This year, tourism surged almost 27% in Hillsborough County; however, industry professionals are doubtful whether the strong travel sector will sustain for the rest of 2023 and next year as well.

Santiago said that as per data from the first part of the financial year beginning Oct. 1, 2022, hotel possession rates stood at 74.3% compared to 69% a year before. The usualeverydaydegree of $153 and the income per vacant room also surpassed the numbers of last year by substantialquantities. The possessiondegrees for the initial months of the second quarter surpassed 80%, saidSantiago.
