The upcoming festival is set to journey through the district, making stops in Ollerton on March 30, Newark on March 31, and Rainworth on April 1, bringing with it a vibrant celebration of arts and culture. This event presents a unique opportunity for community involvement through a diverse range of activities planned across several venues in each of the towns. It promises to offer something for everyone, with activities tailored to cater to all ages and abilities. Notably, attendees will have the chance to partake in circus skill workshops and enjoy face painting, among other offerings, enhancing their festival experience and encouraging them to explore the cultural landscape of each location.

The festival’s inaugural visit to Ollerton will see it spread across three different venues, each hosting an array of engaging activities. The Lifespring Church Centre, Dukeries Leisure Centre, and Ollerton Town football club are set to offer a variety of experiences, from circus skills and hand drumming sessions to virtual reality experiences and sports like disc golf. These activities are designed to engage the local community and visitors alike, promoting a sense of unity and cultural appreciation.

On its second day, the festival will travel to Newark, where it will continue to enrich the local tourism and cultural scene. Activities planned include the Time Travel Tots sessions, circus skill learning, face painting, and disc golf at Hawtonville Children’s Centre. Additionally, the Newark Buttermarket will host creative workshops, including a collaborative songwriting workshop and a large-scale drawing activity on a fabric banner, further engaging the community and visitors in the local culture.

The festival’s journey will conclude in Rainworth, where the Social Action Hub and the Village Hall will host immersive VR experiences, Time Travel Tots sessions, circus skill workshops, and heritage tours. These activities not only entertain but also educate, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the local heritage and arts.

By traveling across these locations, the festival not only showcases the rich cultural tapestry of the district but also significantly contributes to boosting the local tourism business. It does so by attracting visitors from surrounding areas and beyond, encouraging them to discover the diverse cultural offerings of Ollerton, Newark, and Rainworth. This influx of visitors is expected to have a positive impact on local businesses and the overall economy, highlighting the festival’s role in promoting cultural tourism and supporting the growth of the local tourism sector.
