Travelport has officially confirmed its participation in NDC FastTrack, a landmark cross-industry initiative aimed at accelerating the practical adoption of New Distribution Capability (NDC) across the global travel ecosystem. The initiative, which was launched in July 2025, unites airlines, travel agencies, technology providers, and other industry stakeholders to identify best practices and address technical barriers that have slowed the widespread implementation of NDC.

As a longstanding pioneer in NDC, Travelport’s involvement signals another milestone in the effort to modernize airline retailing and deliver enhanced, personalized travel experiences. The company made history in November 2016 when it became the first multi-source content provider to achieve IATA NDC Aggregator Level One certification, underscoring its commitment to advancing next-generation airline distribution solutions.

“Participating in NDC FastTrack reflects Travelport’s ongoing commitment to innovation with our industry partners,” said Simon Gros, Head of Sales and Account Management, Americas at Travelport. “We’ve long supported NDC as a transformative standard, and this initiative allows us to troubleshoot the technical issues impacting wider adoption while ensuring end travelers benefit from seamless access to next-generation airline content.”

Fox World Travel, a Travelport customer also welcomed the announcement. “We’re excited to join with Travelport in participating in NDC FastTrack,” said Sam Hilgendorf, Chief Information Officer at Fox World Travel. “This kind of open initiative is exactly what’s needed to make NDC work at scale. It’s not just about technology, it’s about aligning the levers, pulleys, and buttons across the industry.”

“NDC FastTrack is about doing the hard, practical work of making modern retailing scale across the ecosystem,” said Tye Radcliffe, Chief Customer Success Officer at Accelya. “Through this open initiative, we hope to resolve technical blockers faster and give corporate travelers access to richer content with the servicing reliability they expect.”

By joining NDC FastTrack, Travelport aims to help shape industry standards, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and accelerate the delivery of richer content and tailored offers to travelers worldwide. The initiative provides a platform for participants to discuss technical challenges, share insights, and develop practical strategies that simplify the adoption of NDC across multiple channels.

Travelport’s engagement at NDC FastTrack was highlighted at the inaugural meeting held in Dallas on November 13, where the company, alongside travel management company Fox World Travel, represented the technology and distribution perspective. The session focused on identifying common obstacles in NDC adoption, exploring new technological solutions, and creating actionable frameworks to help airlines and agencies seamlessly implement NDC-enabled offerings.

The move reflects a broader industry trend toward modernizing airline retail practices. NDC is designed to provide airlines with greater flexibility to offer personalized pricing, ancillaries, and dynamic bundles, while enabling travel sellers to access a wider range of content and enhance the customer booking experience. Travelport’s active role in NDC FastTrack reinforces its leadership in this transformation, ensuring that both airlines and travel agents can leverage cutting-edge technology to meet evolving traveler expectations.

Industry experts view initiatives like NDC FastTrack as critical to bridging the gap between current distribution practices and the potential of fully digitalized, content-rich travel retailing. Travelport’s deep experience in NDC and its multi-source content expertise position the company to make meaningful contributions to shaping standards and encouraging adoption at scale.

By fostering collaboration across carriers, technology providers, and travel agencies, NDC FastTrack aims to remove friction points that have hindered previous adoption efforts. Travelport’s participation not only strengthens its commitment to innovation but also provides its partners and clients with early access to evolving best practices in airline retailing.

As NDC continues to gain momentum worldwide, initiatives like NDC FastTrack—and leaders like Travelport driving engagement—are expected to play a pivotal role in the ongoing modernization of air travel distribution. With richer content, personalized offers, and improved technology integration, travelers can anticipate more seamless booking experiences and greater transparency in airline services in the near future.
