TrueNoord, a specialized regional aircraft lessor, has acquired two Embraer E175s leased to Air Canada, marking the finalization of their acquisition of ten Embraer aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The initial announcement of this transaction was made in January 2023.

These newly acquired aircraft are already in operation within the Air Canada Express network, serving over 70 destinations across Canada and the United States. Garry Topp, Sales Director – Americas at TrueNoord, expresses satisfaction, stating, “We are delighted to expand our presence with the addition of two Air Canada-operated E175s to our portfolio. These aircraft constitute the first E175s in our fleet and our second lessee in the country.”

Highlighting Air Canada’s status as a respected flag carrier and the largest airline in the country, known for its robust operational performance and extensive route network, Topp adds, “We take pride in welcoming them to the TrueNoord lessee family and anticipate building a strong and enduring relationship with their team.”

In December 2023, TrueNoord disclosed its involvement in an additional portfolio trade, acquiring 11 aircraft from NAC. This move is set to expand their fleet to 87 turboprops and regional jets. The transaction includes the introduction of new lessee airlines in Australia and Europe, along with an increased placement of aircraft with existing North American airline customers, including Air Canada. The integration of three additional E175s leased to Air Canada is scheduled for completion in Q1 2024.
