Mohamed Moez Belhassine, the Tourism Minister in Tunisia, has announced an endeavour to enhance its tourism programme. This will be done through the launch of a comprehensive quality programme in the handicrafts and tourism sectors.
The Ministry has told the media that this is a calculated move, and it indicates that the goal is to make them more competitive and establish them as a global player.
With the launch of a comprehensive quality program for tourism and handicrafts, Tunisia—known for its diverse cultural heritage and flourishing travel industry—is poised to improve its offerings. The Ministry of Tourism is spearheading the initiative, which aims to boost the quality of goods and services in these areas and reinforce Tunisia’s position as a preferred destination for tourists looking for amazing experiences.
The program’s goal is to raise the standard of tourism services, which will boost domestic travel by drawing in high-end travelers and fostering the industry’s sustainability and competitiveness.
The program seeks to enhance service delivery standards for the tourism industry in addition to handicrafts. This encompasses efforts to enhance the quality of accommodation, dining, and touristic experiences across the country. By guaranteeing that travellers receive top-notch amenities and services, Tunisia hopes to further solidify its position as a top travel destination, drawing more travelers and stimulating the national economy.
The Ministry of Tourism will collaborate closely with businesses, local governments, and artisans from the handicrafts and tourism sectors to accomplish these goals. To improve their abilities and encourage the best practices in craftsmanship, artisans will have access to training programs, workshops, and certifications. In a similar fashion, support will be given to tour operators and service providers in order to upgrade their offerings to international standards.
Furthermore, Belhassine has stressed his commitment to universalizing comprehensive quality for the affiliated tourism facilities and institutions. In addition, he spoke about establishing a unified vision for extending this quality standard to all activities relating to tourism.
To expedite the delivery of this program and meet its goals, the Minister called for a coordinated effort from associated establishments, tourism and craft industry professionals, and all pertinent agencies.
