Türkiye is recently declared of extending its tourism season till the fall as huge tourist inflow in overseas arrivals during the summers have brought back the smile on the face of a huge sector that’s crucial for the revenues of the country.

In spite of a problematic start in February due to disturbing earthquakes in southern Türkiye which have damaged early bookings, a robust international tourist arrival has made up for the unforeseen shortfall.

In the first seven months of 2023, Türkiye welcomed around 26.76 million tourists from abroad, official figures in late July revealed the same.

In January-July, the number of international tourist arrivals rose 16 percent annually compared to last year 2022, the Culture and Tourism Ministry said.

Türkiye alone in Europe welcomed an extraordinary 7.1 million visitors from abroad in just one month. It’s the best record for the month of July, Mehmet Simsek, Treasury and Finance Minister, said in August on a social media platform.

The culture hub Istanbul and Antalya, the southern Mediterranean tourism hotspot are the first two provinces of Türkiye that hosted maximum overseas travelers.

This year’s impetus has been motivated by a huge arrival of holidaymakers from the United Kingdom and Germany besides Russia in spite of the crisis with Ukraine.
