Turn Up the Heat This Memorial Day with a Big Green Egg Cookout Celebration at Four Seasons Resorts Lanai

Celebrate summer and Memorial Day in Hawaii as Four Seasons Resort Lanai welcomes official pitmaster and barbecue specialist Chef Jack Arnold of Big Green Egg for a holiday cookout. The unspoiled island paradise Lanai is the perfect home base, offering a wide array of land, ocean and cultural activities, many managed by Four Seasons. And with round-trip charter service from Honolulu on Lanai Air included in all bookings made by August 31 (arrivals by December 31, 2023), families and friends can enjoy a seamless Hawaiian adventure.

As the sun sets over Hulopoe Beach, guests can enjoy a variety of beverages, wood-fired pizza, poke, huli huli chicken, Kahlua pork, Kiawe wood smoked brisket and more at the Resort’s Luau Grounds Saturday, May 27,2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. As part of Sunset Sessions, a series of complimentary musical events by the Bay, guests can also enjoy live music by the bay.

Jack, who exclusively cooks on four Big Green Egg grills, will share tips and grilling techniques as well as his passion for grilling that he learned from his dad, a south Texan and his main inspiration for charcoal-grilled and slow-smoked beef.

“The unique dome shape of the Big Green Egg paired with the use of block charcoal creates a vortex of smoke that envelopes meat and fish, creating a caramelisation on the outside and adding a wildly distinctive, bold flavour to each item being grilled. It’s truly one-of-a-kind,” says Arnold.

Adventurers can escape on horseback into the hills surrounding Koele and explore the wooded valleys and trails of the extraordinary upland terrain. At the Lanai Archery and Shooting Range, a 14-station sporting clays course challenges all skill levels, try sporting arrows, archery or an “old Western” style rifle experience. Nestled among Cook pines, the Lanai Adventure Park invites guests to experience exhilarating aerial challenges on the Adventure Tower or ziplines, with a Kid’s Tower perfect for the younger set. The LANAI II, a spacious 65 foot (20 metre) sloop rigged sailing catamaran, is ideal for a snorkel or sunset sail.

Closer to home, guests can explore a daily calendar of complimentary or nominal fee activities throughout the day including yoga classes, golf clinics, tennis sessions, botanical garden and resort cultural tours, and much more. Through Love Lanai cultural programs, experience the island’s unique spirit and historical legacy with daily workshops or learn voyaging traditions of the Pacific people and view celestial bodies at the on-site observatory.
