UK afflicted with yellow weather warnings post Christmas

A recent alert related to excessive cold weather has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency where it has been declared that temperatures is expected to fall in the forthcoming days. The cautionary comes into force on Saturday at 9am and expires at noon on 12 January.

The Met Office has mentioned that the high pressure building over the UK will cause the cold snap in the next week, with drivers requested to be careful of ice.

The UKHSA said that over the weekend, an abrupt easterly wind developing all over the south will make it feel even colder, with the added freezing wind flow.

Temperatures are expected to be a few degrees below average all over the UK, particularly overnight, with more extensive frosts than of late. Ice is probably to create a major problem for many keeping in mind the very wet ground in majority of areas. It is being expected that this cold spell has a chance to last well into the following week.

The opposition parties have accused the PM Mr. Rishi Sunak of not taking the issue seriously. In a statement, Labour said that Sunak had been numb at the wheel and now must act immediately or risk further harm to the lives and livelihoods.
