London Stansted Airport achieved a record-breaking 2.31 million passengers in March, marking its busiest winter season with strong growth and high operational efficiency.

London Stansted Airport marked a record-breaking winter season, ending March with an impressive 2.31 million passengers, making it the busiest in its history. This represents a 7.5% increase compared to the same month in the previous year, surpassing the prior March 2024 record by over 127,000 passengers.

Over the 12 months leading to March, passenger numbers at Stansted reached 29.89 million, reflecting a growth of 4.8% from the previous year.

Operational efficiency remained high throughout the month, with over 99% of passengers passing through security within 15 minutes, and an average queue time of just two minutes during peak departure periods.

Stansted’s vast European and international route network contributed to its busiest winter season, with over 10.5 million passengers travelling between November and March. The top travel destinations included Dublin, Istanbul, and Edinburgh, with Spain, Italy, and Germany emerging as the most popular countries among travellers.
