The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for Wednesday, urging Brits to remain “Weather Aware.” Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecasted to hit huge swathes of the country, including Southwest, Northern Ireland, and the entirety of Wales.

Strong winds of up to 70mph are also expected, with Cornwall likely to be the most affected area.

The first warning covers all of Northern Ireland, spanning 11 am until 8 pm, and residents have been advised to expect transport delays and power cuts throughout the day.

The second yellow weather warning for wind stretches from the south of England through to South Wales, and strong gusts are expected to get even faster throughout the morning.

Coastal areas, especially in parts of south and west Wales and Cornwall, could see gusts above 60-70 mph.

The Met Office has warned of possible wintry showers in some parts of the UK on Wednesday, which might include snow or sleet.

Snow is forecasted for some parts of northern England and Scotland, with small wintry showers expected to stretch as far south as Stoke-on-Trent and Swansea.

Most of the heavy rain should have pushed out toward the English Channel and continental Europe by 10 pm. The temperature is also expected to drop sharply to near-freezing in the morning, with highs of 6 degree Celsius feeling far cooler when combined with the heavy northerly winds from the Atlantic Ocean.
