United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (UAL) today revealed the appointment of Michelle Freyre to its Board of Directors. Freyre is renowned for her role as President of Global Brands for Clinique and Origins within The Estée Lauder Companies, where her leadership focuses on shaping the strategic direction and spearheading worldwide expansion for the brands.

“Michelle’s extensive experience in business and product strategy will make her an excellent addition to our already strong Board of Directors,” said United CEO Scott Kirby. “In each of her previous roles, Michelle has deftly balanced modernizing and celebrating the historic brands she has overseen.”

“We are excited to welcome Michelle to the Board of Directors and look forward to the valuable insight and experience she will bring to United,” said Ted Philip, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “For the last two decades, Michelle has guided some of the most prominent brands in corporate America and her sophisticated understanding of large brands to serve the needs of customers is valuable experience that will benefit United and our Board of Directors.”

“I am honored to join the Board of Directors at United Airlines and contribute my brand-building experience, global perspectives and passion for serving discerning consumers to such an iconic, transformative and prominent brand,” said Michelle Freyre. “As someone who is focused on a consumer-centric approach, I admire the elevated experience United Airlines offers to its consumers around the world. Furthermore, I am humbled to have this opportunity to represent my Latina community.”

Freyre has distinguished herself by guiding prominent brands to success, earning accolades from prestigious organizations like Fortune, Bloomberg, and the Association of Latino Professionals For America, who have hailed her as one of the most influential Latinas in American business. In her leadership at Clinique and Origins, she has spearheaded campaigns that engage consumers from various age groups, ensuring that these storied brands remain relevant. Her approachable manner and emphasis on leading with empathy and authenticity have cultivated a welcoming atmosphere within Clinique, Origins, and The Estée Lauder Companies.

Before joining Estée Lauder, Freyre dedicated two decades to Johnson & Johnson (J&J), taking on significant marketing and sales positions, including President of U.S. Beauty for the J&J Consumer Health Products division. Her career also includes tenure at Pepsi-Cola Company among other brand marketing roles. A Puerto Rico native, she completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University before obtaining an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Michelle is set to join the board alongside Rosalind Brewer, who was appointed earlier in the year. Following commendable service, Directors James Kennedy and Carolyn Corvi have chosen not to seek re-election this year.
