Starting May 1st, United Airlines is set to inaugurate daily nonstop flights connecting Guam to Tokyo Haneda International Airport. These flights will run throughout the year, providing a convenient and direct connection between Guam and the heart of Japan’s capital due to the proximity of Haneda airport to the city center. This addition complements United’s existing 32 weekly flights linking Guam to Tokyo-Narita. Tickets for these new flights will be available for purchase starting tonight.

“As we grow our global network, we’re always looking for opportunities to give our customers more choice and strengthen links between countries. This route – connecting Tokyo’s most convenient airport with our unique Guam hub – accomplishes just that. I appreciate the support of the Department of Transportation in recognizing the importance of this route to our customers and stakeholders,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances.

United intends to utilize a 737-800 aircraft for this route, boasting accommodation for 166 passengers, including 16 business class seats. Departing from Guam at 19:00 local time, the flight is scheduled to touch down at Haneda at 22:00 on the same day. On the return leg, the flight will leave Haneda at 23:55 and reach Guam at 04:45 the following day.

As the largest airline in Guam, United operates over 87 weekly flights to 14 destinations. With a presence spanning more than 55 years, United is the sole carrier offering flights between Guam and Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya in Japan, as well as various islands in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Palau.

With this latest inclusion, United will extend its services to six daily flights departing from Haneda, catering to travelers bound for New York/Newark, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now Guam. Additionally, United operates 10 daily flights to Tokyo’s Narita airport, connecting New York/Newark, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Guam, and Saipan. Notably, United provides the highest number of seats from the United States to Tokyo compared to any other U.S. airline.
