United Airlines flight makes emergency landing in Tampa due to door malfunction

In Tampa, a city in the Gulf coast of Florida, USA, the United Airlines’ Chicago bound airplane made an emergency landing on Wednesday due to open door as light illuminates soon after the flight took off.

This unscheduled landing at the Tampa International Airport created instant news as the United Airlines plane had to make this right away after a warning light showed that one of the doors of the aircraft was open, as explained by the airport.

Just few days after a door plug blew out of an Alaska Airlines in mid-air, this incident almost similar, happened, creating a frightening scene inside.

Number 2434 of the United flight, was en route from Sarasota to Chicago when the pilots saw the light that works as an open-door indicator and communicated the issue immediately to the airport authorities. As an instant safety measure, they took the decision to divert the aircraft to the nearest airport i.e., Tampa,

This Airbus A319, at 3:42 p.m. had left Sarasota, Bradenton International Airport and arrived at Tampa at 4:35 p.m., as per Flight Aware, a website that works on tracking flights. On board, there were 123 passengers and five crew members.

A United spokesperson stated that the emergency landing was made this afternoon as a major safeguard for everyone.
