United declares expansion strategies in Houston

United has declared expansion strategies in Houston that comprise a $2.6 billion facelift and growth of Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), a new United ClubSM site and Early Bag Storage facility (EBS) along with a new non-stop flight to Georgetown, Guyana.


These funding is a part of the airline’s United Next expansion plan and comprise the development of 40 gates at IAH to house bigger aircraft, generating a 40% growth in the complete volume of people who can fly on top travel times in 2026 equated to this year.


United is a major airline in Houston, with over 14,000 staffs and 400 everyday leavings. The airline employed over 2,100 people domestically this year and anticipates adding an additional 1,500 next year.

This growth is also predictable to generate an extra 4,000 building works. As per a recent study, United’s direct employment in Houston adds to over $1.2 billion in financial action yearly. Comprising the Terminal B venture, United has capitalized more than $3.5 billion in its Houston amenities from the time of 2015.
