Today, it continues to be a beloved symbol on the Athens Riviera for contemporary love connections.

This Valentine’s Day 2024, the hotel is hosting three distinctive celebrations, inviting not just couples but also singles, friends, and families to commemorate love, life, and the joy of living – contributing to the hotel’s ongoing narrative of significant romantic milestones.

Pelagos – A Culinary Voyage of Love

Pelagos, reopening on Valentine’s Day, is commemorating this special occasion with a six-course gourmet tasting menu, optionally paired with wines. The meal commences with Pelagos canapés and Taittinger Rosé Brut Champagne, featuring standout dishes such as Red Prawn Tartare with Chilean Sauvignon Blanc Expresión Reserve, Turbot Farci with Black Truffle, Clams, and Chorizo Oil, and a Mascarpone Cloud with Raspberry, Rose, and Batak Berries, complemented by a Niepoort Tawny Port 10Y.

Since its debut in 2021, Pelagos, named after the Greek term for “sea,” has earned acclaim for its innovative local cuisine, gaining a Michelin star within its first six months. “Pelagos symbolizes the passion and mystery of love and the sea,” says Head Chef Luca Piscazzi. “Our Valentine’s menu is designed to reflect the intricate and profound nature of love and the journey into the unknown in relationships.”

Mercato – A Toast to Italian Romance

Mercato, the hotel’s elegant seaside trattoria, is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a vibrant tribute to Italy – its lively culture, rich tastes, and warm hospitality. The bold six-course menu for Valentine’s Night includes Tuna and Caviar, Beetroot Carpaccio with Goat Cheese and Endive, Wagyu Beef with Foie Gras and Potato Mille Feuille, and a dessert of Chocolate Crème with Berry Compote. A vegetarian option features dishes like Rapa Rossa e Caprino and Cavolfiore e Mela.

“Through this menu, we honor the passionate and romantic spirit of Italy, which is deeply ingrained in Mercato’s ethos,” says Chef Sergio, hailing from Sicily. “We’ve refreshed these traditional Italian flavors with modern twists to celebrate contemporary love stories.”

Avra – The Art of Love in Mixology

Revived in May 2023, Avra is renowned for its dynamic cocktails, DJ events, and collaborations with celebrated mixologists. It’s the perfect spot for Valentine’s Day festivities, capturing the spirit of joy and the art of mixology.

The “Avra For All” event on the evening of February 14th is open to everyone – singles, couples, friends, and families – to celebrate love in all its forms. Led by mixologist Manon Kapfer, Avra promises a lively atmosphere, with a special Valentine’s Drinks Menu showcasing the bar’s innovative and adventurous approach to cocktail crafting.
