The upcoming 2024 summer flight schedule at Vienna Airport, effective from March 31 to October 26, promises a world of travel opportunities with 190 destinations on the list.

This includes a rich array of choices across Europe and the Mediterranean, along with an expanding roster of long-haul flights as part of the ongoing recovery.

Austrian Airlines will be flying to over 120 locations, introducing new destinations such as Boston, Bremen, and Tbilisi, while reinstating direct services to Los Angeles and Tokyo. Ryanair is set to commence flights to Rijeka, Olbia, Tirana, and Split, covering up to 80 destinations. Wizz Air will connect passengers to 29 destinations, including London and Barcelona. Eurowings plans to broaden its reach to Germany from Vienna, adding Berlin to its network. Meanwhile, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is scheduled to resume its service to Tokyo Haneda Airport in August. Additionally, airlines like Air Canada, Air China, Qatar Airways, and Kuwait Airways are enhancing their flight schedules, offering more travel options for passengers.

“The summer is the time to travel. This year’s summer flight schedule at Vienna Airport covers a broad range of destinations and offers exciting opportunities for long-distance travel, including 17 long-haul destinations such as Boston served by Austrian Airlines or the resumption of flight service to Tokyo by ANA. Short- and medium-haul flights to numerous popular and classical holiday destinations within Europe and to the Mediterranean are being offered. A good international accessibility is important to the entire business and tourism location of Austria. In the summer of 2024, 60 airlines will operate flights from Vienna Airport to 190 destinations in 67 countries across the globe,” states Mag. Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.

In the upcoming summer season, Austrian Airlines is set to enhance its global network by offering services to over 120 destinations, including new routes to Boston, Bremen, and Tbilisi. The airline is also increasing flight frequencies to sought-after Mediterranean locales and various European cities such as Seville, Vilnius, Chișinău, Nice, Olbia, and Palermo. Additionally, travelers have access to an extensive selection of long-haul destinations, with seasonal direct flights to Los Angeles and Tokyo, alongside year-round services to cities including Chicago, New York, Washington, Montreal, Shanghai, and Bangkok. A notable upgrade in passenger experience is anticipated as Austrian Airlines introduces the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to its fleet, which will commence operations on continental routes and subsequently serve New York from June 15, 2024, and Chicago from July 1, 2024.

From Vienna Airport, Ryanair will operate flights to up to 80 destinations during the summer, supported by a 19-aircraft fleet and an expected passenger count of seven million in Austria for the summer of 2024. The airline has expanded its destination portfolio to include Rijeka, Olbia, Tirana, and Split, and has enhanced service frequencies to more than ten popular summer and city destinations, such as Rhodes, Dublin, Malaga, Santorini, and Catania.

Wizz Air is set to connect Vienna to 29 destinations using its fleet of five state-of-the-art A321neo aircraft. The airline is focusing on Middle Eastern destinations including Abu Dhabi, Amman, Jeddah, Tel Aviv, and Riad, and is increasing flight frequencies to Tirana, London-Gatwick, Barcelona, Naples, and Malaga for the summer. Additionally, Wizz Air will extend its service to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh until mid-June and will introduce flights to Split and Larnaca starting mid-June.

Eurowings is expanding its German network from Vienna by introducing a new destination, thereby enhancing its connectivity to Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Stuttgart with up to two daily flights to the German capital.

The long-haul flight offerings from Vienna are set to expand significantly. After nearly four years of hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) will resume its direct flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport in August, with three weekly flights. Air China is increasing its flights to Beijing, Air Canada to Toronto, Qatar Airways to Doha, and Kuwait Airways to Kuwait. Emirates is also boosting its Dubai route capacity by deploying the A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, through the end of the summer 2024 schedule.
