Vietnam needs rules and plan for improving agri-tourism

Vietnam needs to bring rules and a complete plan for improving the market for agri-tourism real estate, said the experts.

An official from the land department, natural resources and environment ministry said that while the trade of agri-tourism is an emerging commercial model, there are till now no acceptable necessities in the land commandment to drive forward professionally.

The development of lawful papers and rules will generate a passage for improving this business model
in keeping with the rule, opined the official, He added that politicians need to carry on to revise land
organization and how to mingle land usage commitments for agriculture and tourism at the same
time.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuyen from Hanoi Law University said that the 2013 Land Law till now does not have a
complete plan for sustainable organization and usage of agri-tourism land.

Agri-tourism property was not formally recognized in the Land Law of 2013. These necessities have no
clarification for agri-tourism and no term regarding how the land can be utilized.

Current rules also have not identified the registering and dispensing of land right permits for agri-tourism
reasons, or permitted experts to alter the legitimately specified usage of land for developing this business
type.

Tuyen stated that the Land Law of 2013 only indicates traditional usages of agrarian land comprising
production of crops, aquaculture, forestry and salt manufacture. It eliminates the likelihood of connecting
the land with tourism growth.
