On January 7, Hai Duong province convened a conference to review the achievements of its Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee and the Steering Committee for the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” in 2024 and to outline tasks for 2025. The event focused on advancing tourism initiatives and cultural development in the region, with Vietnam as a key focus for upcoming efforts.
The report presented at the conference highlighted remarkable progress in Hai Duong’s tourism sector during 2024. The province saw a significant boost in tourist arrivals, hosting approximately 2,547,975 visitors—an impressive 41% increase compared to 2023. This included 108,525 international visitors, marking a 43% rise, and 2,439,450 domestic tourists, up by 41%. Tourism revenue reached 1,222.58 billion VND, reflecting a growth of 41%. These achievements underscored the province’s growing appeal and its role in driving socio-economic development while enhancing Hai Duong’s visibility to both domestic and international travelers.
Looking ahead, the province aims to further elevate its tourism offerings in 2025, integrating Vietnam’s broader cultural and tourism potential into its strategic goals.
In 2024, the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” achieved notable results across Hai Duong province. A total of 1,319 out of 1,341 villages and residential areas, along with 597,821 out of 625,045 families, were recognized with cultural titles. Fourteen wards and towns met the standards for civilized urban areas, increasing the total to 24 out of 56 wards and towns (42.8%). Additionally, 1,304 agencies and units achieved cultural standards, while 439 agencies, units, and enterprises established smoke-free environments. Regular physical exercise participation reached 34% of the population, and 100% of schools at all levels successfully implemented quality physical exercise and sports programs.

During the conclusion of the conference, the importance of evaluating 2025 as a pivotal year to complete term objectives was underscored. It was recommended to review cultural and social development goals, align them with the priorities of the steering committees, and develop targeted solutions to fulfill these objectives. Addressing limitations, analyzing causes, and proposing strategic measures to the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee were emphasized. Strengthening policies, focusing on workforce development in tourism, and leveraging the cultural values of the Eastern community as a source of internal strength and a catalyst for progress were identified as key priorities.
