The aviation industry is facing a unique situation where certain domestic flight routes continue to maintain high fares even after the conclusion of the busy Lunar New Year period, a departure from previous years. This anomaly can be attributed to maintenance requirements halting the operation of A321 aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, thus decreasing the supply capacity in the market.

In response to the ongoing demand for travel, Vietravel Airlines has taken proactive measures by increasing the frequency of several key routes. For instance, they’ve ramped up flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to three round trips per day, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to five round trips daily, and Hanoi and Da Nang to two round trips daily. Additionally, Vietravel Airlines has collaborated with Vietravel Holidays and other partners to introduce a series of charter flights to Japan and Korea starting from March. This strategic move aims to bolster supply capacity in the market and extend the airline’s flight network.

Furthermore, Vietravel Airlines has rolled out various fare promotion initiatives, including the “Hunt for 8K tickets” priced at 8,000 VND from Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 14:00, and the weekend sale program offering tickets at 9,900 VND from 09:09 to 21:09. Notably, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the airline provides discounts of up to 83% with the codes “DOANYTHING1” or “DOANYTHING2”.

In pursuit of optimizing passenger revenue, Vietravel Airlines is focusing on promoting ancillary products such as convenience packages, seat upgrades, hot meals, and culturally rich items. The airline has observed a significant uptick in revenue from ancillary products in the first two months of 2024, marking a 47% growth compared to the same period in 2023. Particularly, revenue from convenience packages and checked baggage surpasses 85%.

Buoyed by the promising trends in ancillary product sales and a commitment to enhancing the passenger experience, Vietravel Airlines officially introduced the Premium Economy service on March 8, 2024. This service includes perks like a 12kg cabin baggage allowance, 40kg checked baggage allowance, access to CIP lounges, priority seating (applicable to six seats in the first row), a complimentary snack and drink from the menu, priority check-in, waiver of change and late fees, and refundable tickets (with applicable fees).
