Visit Hungary: Indian agents explore Budapest leisure & MICE gems

Recently, an inaugural exploration journey was organized by Visit Hungary for Indian tourism professionals, highlighting Budapest ‘s leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) prospects and areas beyond. Orchestrated by BRANDit, this excursion from December 4th to 9th, 2023, included participation from six representatives from various travel agencies including Axplore, Harmony Tours, Varun WorldWide, Kesari, FCM, and Trawell Stories. Their itinerary spanned several key cities, providing a deep dive into leisure and MICE-focused destinations.

The adventure commenced at Etyek Wine City, situated on the periphery of Budapest. Here, the delegates engaged in a wine-tasting event, absorbing the rich heritage of Hungarian viticulture. The expedition progressed to the House of Music, a modern cultural icon, where they explored the rich tapestry of Hungary’s musical history. The evening reached its zenith with an extravagant dinner aboard a Danube river cruise.

A seminar was conducted at the opulent Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, featuring a comprehensive market analysis by representatives from different nations. This was complemented by a session with Hungarian tourism enterprises, offering the participants detailed insights into the country’s leisure activities, MICE capabilities, and some of its hidden gems. The group also toured the renowned Lake Balaton and Tihany Abbey, celebrated for its architectural splendor. The journey wrapped up with a delightful excursion to Balatonfüred, a picturesque lakeside village, and a guided tour through Veszprém.

Upon their return, the agents carried with them a trove of experiences, encompassing a multitude of natural and architectural marvels, luxurious amenities, and gastronomic delights, underscoring Hungary’s appeal as a diverse destination suitable for visits throughout the year.
