As per a report published by Times News Network, the West Bengal government would send two officials to ITB Berlin, one of the world’s major travel festivals, which will be held from March 7 to 9. The goal is to promote Bengal’s tourist spots and attract more international visitors to the state.

While Durga Puja will be a key feature, the Bengal stand at ITB will promote off beat tourism sites in the hills, oceans, and forests. Guests will be informed about the unique features of the Sundarbans mangroves, as well as the possibility of seeing a tiger.

According to an official, the goal of the tourism exhibition is to emphasise brand Bengal so that travellers recognise Bengal as a prominent destination. The stand will be custom-made, and the branding will be in both English and German.

ITB Berlin has planned a number of important changes this year to mark the first in-person edition since the pandemic began. The demands placed on global trade fairs have changed considerably in recent years, which is why in future and in terms of customers, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show is concentrating its efforts to focus on exhibiting companies as well as exclusively on trade visitors, buyers and the media.

As in previous years, the internationally renowned ITB Berlin Convention will take place live parallel with the exhibition on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, with selected sessions live-streamed on itb.com. Virtual services surrounding the live show will round off events.
