weddingIndustry experts say that the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel might act as a marketing tool to lure tourists in the years to come but there might not be more visitors during  the wedding month, May.

Tom Jenkins, CEO of European tourism association ETOA mentioned that they don’t expect visitors from abroad to come for the royal wedding and  finds it to be a pageant for domestic consumption.

As per the UK office for National Statistics, the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton could not have  a major surge in tourist arrival or spending and this wedding might not be any different.

It has been predicted by the analysts that a spike in the visits from the royal fanatics might be counteracted with the tourists desire of staying away from the brouhaha.

The marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will  happen on May 19, 2018, however, the wedding might still boost visitor numbers over the long run.

The coverage of the wedding is considered as the best free advertising a country can wish for and reminds people of visiting the UK mentioned Deirde Wells, the head of the British travel association UKinbound.

In the coming years after watching the wedding on TV visitors might feel compelled to book UK trips predicted Wells.

Alexander Göransson, an analyst at the market research firm Euromonitor stated that UK will be in focus due to Meghan and Harry’s wedding, considering the US perspective which might sustain the current momentum.

UK is the sixth most visited country in the world as per the Euromonitor and the visitor assival have been on the rise for many years. The country had welcomed 38 million people in 2017.

Wells said that the wedding will not have a huge impact on London’s hotel capacity as the wedding will be  held in Windsor, located 25 miles outside central London.

Hotel booking might get tricky near the venue but the travel agents mentioned that getting a room in London won’t be a problem.

Diane Bean, a travel agent based in Maine who runs the company Off On Vacation stated that clients had asked of postponing or rescheduling as London might turn out to be too busy but she said a no to them, further mentioning that the prices were stable for Great Britain as  a whole.
