Windstar Cruises has unveiled its spring 2027 Japan itineraries ahead of schedule in response to strong demand for its 2026 voyages. To accommodate traveler requests for additional sailings in this sought-after destination, the company has also introduced an extra fall departure.

Windstar Cruises Elevates Its Japan Offerings

Windstar Cruises will debut its 10-night Grand Japan itinerary aboard the Star Seeker, a new addition to the fleet set to launch in December 2025. This exceptional voyage will sail from Tokyo to Kyoto, stopping at key Japanese destinations and making a memorable visit to Busan, South Korea.

Star Seeker is slated to begin its Japan season in September 2026, offering five Grand Japan sailings through October. In spring 2027, the ship will embark on seven departures between March and May, potentially aligning with the captivating cherry blossom season.

The Grand Japan itinerary is designed to immerse travelers in the country’s stunning natural landscapes and rich historical heritage. Passengers will experience scenic cruising through the Inland Sea, famed for its tranquil waters and beautiful islands. The journey includes a stop at Hashima Island, a desolate former coal mining hub known for its eerie, industrial ruins. Cultural and historical enrichment awaits at the Peace Memorial Parks in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Additionally, the itinerary explores off-the-beaten-path destinations like Takamatsu, famous for its gardens and udon noodles, and Karatsu, home to a grand feudal castle.

Travelers can enhance their journey by adding the Kyoto & the Zen of Japan Cruise Tour, offering immersive inland experiences in Kyoto. This tour includes activities like relaxing hot spring baths, participating in traditional tea ceremonies, and exploring the iconic Golden Pavilion.

Windstar’s Early Booking Promotion, running through February 28, 2025, offers a complimentary upgrade to All-Inclusive Fares, which encompass Wi-Fi, gratuities, and a curated selection of alcoholic beverages. In addition, clients will receive a $200 onboard credit per stateroom, enhancing their onboard experience. To take advantage of this offer, a 15% deposit is required at booking, with the remaining balance due 120 days prior to departure.
