The highly anticipated awards ceremony reflects Wynn’s ongoing dedication to spotlighting the finest Chinese wines on a global platform. Moreover, Wynn plans to host ‘Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Month’ in May—an occasion dedicated to celebrating Chinese wine excellence alongside a diverse array of global culinary experiences.

After a rigorous judging process, Fei Tswei Marselan Reserve 2021 claimed the prestigious Best Wine of China Trophy. Its exceptional quality also earned it distinctions for Best Red Wine, Best Marselan, and Best of Ningxia. This strengthens Macao’s position as the City of Gastronomy and enriches its offerings as a World Center of Tourism and Leisure, thereby promoting the sustainable development of Macao’s tourism industry and related industries.”

The esteemed awards ceremony was led by distinguished guests including Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office; Mr. Vincent U U Sang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute; Mr. Yang Yi, Deputy Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; and Ms. Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited. They were joined by Mr. Eddie McDougall, Chair of judges for Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards; Mr. Frederic Luvisutto, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited; Mr. Chris Ashton, Chief of Stewards of the Awards.

The Wynn Signature Best Wine of China Trophy was the highlight of the event. A panel of 27 internationally acclaimed wine judges, including seven Masters of Wine, three Master Sommeliers, and experts from various wine-related fields, evaluated over 700 submissions from nearly 200 premium wineries through blind tastings. Eddie McDougall, along with three Vice Chairs—Fongyee Walker MW, Gus Zhu MW, and Andrew Caillard MW—were integral members of this esteemed judging panel.

The wines were assessed for Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals based on their scores (95-100 points for Gold, 90-94 points for Silver, and 85-89 points for Bronze). Besides the medals, winemakers competed for the Wynn Signature Best Wine of China Trophy and 23 other trophies across three divisions: “Wynn Signature Trophies,” “Varietals Champion Trophies,” and “Regional Champion Trophies.” These divisions aimed to recognize China’s top winemakers, major varietal expressions, and regional diversity.

The awards program featured a weekend of events including Chinese wine pairing tastings and masterclasses hosted by renowned wine experts like Ian Dai and Professor Ma Huiqin. The celebrations kicked off with a Chinese Wine Dinner at Wynn Macau Ballroom moderated by Master of Wine Julien Boulard. Additionally, a “Chinese Wine Forum” was held to discuss the industry with leading winemakers.

In continuation of its support for Chinese winemakers, Wynn is opening registrations for the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards 2025 starting May 1, 2024, maintaining its role as a global platform for recognizing excellence in Chinese wines.

Post-awards, Wynn will host ‘Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Month’ in May—a celebration featuring specially curated wine pairing menus at Wynn’s prestigious dining venues. Guests can also enjoy tasting flights of award-winning wines at various bars across Wynn properties. Throughout the year, Wynn will continue to highlight wines from key Chinese winemaking regions with masterclasses and gourmet experiences hosted by acclaimed wine experts.
