Singapore Builds a Bigger MICE Tourism Calendar for 2026
MICE Tourism
Come October, Singapore will already be preparing for the fall season, packed with various MICE events, including ITB Asia and MICE Show Asia, which are scheduled to take place in Singapore soon. In this year’s 2026 edition, ITB Asia and Travel Tech Asia will coincide between 21 and 23 October. Thus, it is an event that combines all four sectors, such as leisure travel, corporate travel, MICE, and travel tech industries. It carries a lot of significance for the tourism industry in Singapore because the ITB Asia event attracts more than 18,000 visitors, 1,500 buyers, and more than 1,000 exhibitors. The registration process of this event is based on the idea of pre-arranged business meetings.
Singapore Builds a Bigger MICE Calendar
For travellers arriving for the October shows, the experience begins well before the exhibition floor. Singapore’s compact geography allows delegates to move between convention venues, hotels, restaurants, shopping districts and attractions within relatively short journeys.
Marina Bay, for example, places business visitors close to major hotels, waterfront attractions, dining venues and cultural sights. This makes it possible to combine business schedules with short city breaks. A delegate finishing a meeting can explore Gardens by the Bay, visit the ArtScience Museum or spend an evening around the city’s restaurant and entertainment districts.
Singapore Tourism Board describes the city as a major business and MICE hub supported by public transport, accommodation, event venues and international air connectivity. The Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau also supports business events through programmes including Business Events in Singapore, INSPIRE and the Singapore MICE Advantage Programme.

Experience Takes a Bigger Place
The 2026 ITB Asia edition is also placing greater attention on experiences. A new Experience Pavilion, developed with Tripadvisor, is scheduled to showcase adventure, culture, wellness, culinary tourism and other experience-led travel products.

This matters to the tourism side of MICE because corporate delegates increasingly have opportunities to combine formal meetings with activities outside the conference room. In Singapore, that can include food trails, heritage walks, wellness experiences, shopping, waterfront visits and curated incentive itineraries.
The city already promotes incentive programmes through INSPIRE, which includes curated itineraries featuring dining, entertainment and attractions. For international buyers and event planners, these programmes provide a way to connect business gatherings with experiences that can be incorporated into delegate schedules.
Technology Moves Into Business Travel
Technology is another major feature surrounding Singapore’s 2026 travel-trade calendar. Travel Tech Asia, held alongside ITB Asia and MICE Show Asia, will bring technology providers and travel businesses together to examine artificial intelligence, connectivity, booking, distribution, payments and hospitality technology.

The wider event ecosystem is also increasingly focused on digital matchmaking. ITB Asia operates a pre-scheduled appointment model, while its 2026 All Access Pass gives participants entry to the three co-located shows and access to business meetings through the event app.
For tourism companies, this means the trade-show experience is becoming more connected from registration to meetings and destination discovery. Buyers can research exhibitors, schedule appointments and move between travel, MICE and technology discussions within one event environment.

Sustainability Becomes Part of the MICE Journey
Environmental management is another important part of Singapore’s business-events framework. The Singapore Tourism Board’s Tourism Sustainability Programme includes guidelines for sustainable MICE operations covering waste management and carbon emissions management.
The carbon guidance covers measurement, reduction, calculation, verification and offsetting of greenhouse-gas emissions across parts of the MICE supply chain, including organisers, venues, exhibitors, food and beverage providers, logistics companies and event builders.
For delegates, sustainability can be visible in practical parts of the travel journey, from waste management at venues to food choices, transport arrangements and event materials. For organisers, these measures provide a framework for assessing the environmental impact of large gatherings.
A City Designed Around Business Travel
Another reason Singapore is a good option for business tourism is how its business infrastructure integrates with other parts of the visitor experience. Singapore’s convention centers are located next to hotel complexes, restaurant districts, shopping and entertainment areas. Another potential plan of the Singapore Tourism Board is a Downtown MICE Hub in Marina Bay. It will be a cluster combining MICE facilities, accommodations, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and attractions, while also taking a step toward increasing the city’s business event hosting capacity. As ITB Asia, MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia come up with their October dates, Singapore gets ready not only for a three-day business conference but also for an opportunity to combine several aspects of the trip into one experience. The combination of travel business, destination marketing, technology and business meetings on the one hand and providing opportunities to explore Singapore on the other, makes the event convenient for participants. It means that all of the business meetings are organised during the day, whereas travellers can get to know Singapore during their leisure time.
