The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has outlined plans to establish five industrial parks, including an Electric Vehicle (EV) Park, in proximity to the forthcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, necessitating the acquisition of approximately 600 acres of land for this initiative, according to sources familiar with the developments. These parks are poised to be located in YEIDA Sector 10 along the Yamuna Expressway, bridging Greater Noida with the historic cities of Mathura and Agra, further enhancing the region’s industrial and manufacturing landscape.

Informed sources revealed that the industrial parks slated for development near the Noida International Airport would comprise a diverse array of sectors including an electric vehicle park, a plastic processing park, a footwear park, a handicrafts park, and a transport hub. The acquisition of nearly 600 acres of agricultural land in Sector 10 for these projects has been initiated following directives from the Uttar Pradesh state government to the Gautam Budh Nagar administration.

Officials highlighted that Sector 10 is designated in the masterplan as an industrial hub, positioned strategically near Jewar airport, also known as Noida International Airport. The sector’s advantageous location near the greenfield airport and its accessibility via the Yamuna Expressway are expected to attract a wide range of industries, manufacturing units, and other industrial ventures.

Particularly, the EV Park in Sector 10 is anticipated to host manufacturing units of EV companies, producing electric vehicles and their components among other things. The Uttar Pradesh government issued a notification on February 4 of this year, instructing the Gautam Budh Nagar administration to fast-track and conclude the land acquisition process, which is crucial for the development of these industrial parks.

A comprehensive social impact assessment study has already been conducted by Gautam Buddha University, as part of the preparatory work. The public will have the opportunity to present objections and suggestions in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Officials are also taking measures to inform the public about the implications of buying or selling land within the notified acquisition area without authorization from the district magistrate. Following the completion of all requisite formalities in line with regulations, the process of distributing land compensation will begin, culminating in the acquisition of the land which will then be transferred to YEIDA for the development of the industrial parks. An official from YEIDA expressed optimism about commencing the allocation of land for these parks, following the development of necessary amenities, with the aim of completing this process within 2024.
