Lonavala has always been more than just a hill station. It is a feeling deeply connected with memories of scenic drives through the Sahyadri mountains, mist-covered valleys during the monsoon, waterfalls flowing down rocky cliffs, hot cups of tea enjoyed by the roadside, roasted corn shared with loved ones and endless conversations during weekend escapes. For generations, a visit to Lonavala has remained incomplete without stopping at one of its much-loved dhabas for a comforting and unforgettable meal.
Among these iconic culinary landmarks, Sunny Da Dhaba has earned a special place in the hearts of travellers. Famous for its legendary Butter Chicken, traditional khatiya-style seating and welcoming hospitality, the destination has been a cherished part of countless journeys through Lonavala for many years.
Now, this celebrated legacy is entering a new phase with the introduction of Mirari, a carefully designed culinary bungalow located amid the peaceful hills of Lonavala. The new destination blends the charm, nostalgia and emotional connection of the region with a fresh approach to contemporary dining, creating a space where guests can experience food, nature and togetherness in a memorable setting.
Mirari is designed to be more than a place for dining. It offers travellers a chance to slow down, take a break from busy routines, reconnect with family and friends, and celebrate the unique charm that has made Lonavala a favourite escape for generations.

Eat. Sip. Unwind.
This philosophy forms the foundation of the Mirari experience.
Inspired by the meaning of the word “wonder”, Mirari reflects the emotions visitors feel when they arrive in Lonavala — the cool mountain breeze, clouds floating over green landscapes, the refreshing atmosphere after rainfall and the peaceful beauty of the hills. Every element of the bungalow has been thoughtfully created around this feeling of discovery and relaxation.
The property features two distinctive dining concepts, each offering a unique interpretation of Lonavala’s culture, heritage and evolving food scene.
Leni celebrates Lonavala’s heritage through a modern café experience. The name draws inspiration from the ancient Buddhist cave sanctuaries, known as lenis, that represent the historical identity of the region. The café has been created as a relaxed space for slow mornings, handcrafted beverages, comforting desserts and meaningful conversations.
The menu at Leni combines familiar favourites with creative culinary touches, offering dishes such as Burrata Margherita Flatbread, Corn Bhaji with Poached Egg and Pulled Lamb Leg Sandwich. Guests can also enjoy indulgent desserts including Lonavala’s Famous Walnut Fudge Crêpes and Sticky Toffee Ginger Pudding.
The café’s beverage selection further enhances the experience with signature creations such as Morning After Cold Brew and the refreshing Mogra Cooler. Each drink has been carefully developed to pair with the menu while encouraging visitors to enjoy a slower, more relaxed dining journey.
Avaali brings a contemporary Indian dining experience inspired by the landscapes of Lonavala’s hills and valleys. The restaurant celebrates India’s diverse culinary traditions while adding a modern touch through creative techniques, premium ingredients and thoughtful presentation.
The menu features a combination of popular Sunny Da Dhaba classics and innovative Indian dishes. Highlights include the 100 Layer Sindhi Aloo Tukk, Kerala Prawn Pepper Fry Cigars, Truffle & Herb Kothambir Wadi, the much-loved OG Butter Chicken and the signature Mirari Falooda.
Avaali also introduces an imaginative cocktail programme designed to complement its food offerings. Signature creations include Aamlet, a modern interpretation of the traditional aam panna drink, and Fudge, a rich cocktail inspired by Lonavala’s famous fudge and crafted with Baileys coffee liqueur.
Together, Leni and Avaali showcase two different sides of Lonavala — from peaceful café moments and relaxed conversations to grand family gatherings and memorable evenings filled with exceptional food and drinks.
With Mirari, the legacy of Lonavala’s culinary culture continues to evolve, offering travellers a new destination where heritage, hospitality and modern gastronomy come together amid the beauty of the Sahyadri hills.
For founder Sharad Wadhwani, Mirari is a heartfelt tribute to the destination that has shaped
generations of memories. “Lonavala has always been more than a getaway, it is where memories are
made. With Mirari, we wanted to create a grand bungalow in the hills that honours the warmth and
legacy of Sunny Da Dhaba while offering a fresh dining experience for today’s traveller. This is our way of
giving back to a place that has given us so much.”
Whether it is a relaxed family lunch, a refreshing coffee moment while enjoying the scenic hills, an evening gathering with friends over handcrafted drinks, or a spontaneous break during a road journey, Mirari is created to add a memorable touch to every Lonavala experience. Some places are more than just stops along the way; they become destinations worth discovering.
