I thought we were going to miss the eclipse completely, but to be able to catch the event from the sky was a phenomenal highlight for me – and to share that moment with our passengers was even better!  I’ve only been flying for a few years, but have had so many ‘pinch-me’ moments where I can’t quite believe that this is my job, and seeing the solar eclipse from the air is the latest to be added to that list!

It felt like such a privilege to be sat watching this once-in-a-generation solar eclipse from the flight deck of an aircraft, looking down onto the most amazing mountainous landscape of Southern Spain, knowing that there are parts of the earth down there that nobody has ever walked on. What a life.”
