The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula, Vignette Collection by IHG Hotels & Resorts, has appointed veteran hospitality executive Neelabh Chugh as its General Manager, placing an experienced industry leader at the helm as the property prepares to welcome its first guests.
The appointment comes at an important stage for the hotel, which is set to become the first Vignette Collection hotel in India and South West Asia. Chugh will be responsible for the hotel’s overall operations, strategic direction and commercial performance, while leading the team through the property’s pre-opening phase.

The arrival of the Vignette Collection brand in Panchkula is expected to add a distinctive luxury and lifestyle proposition to the Chandigarh Tricity hospitality market. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Chugh brings extensive experience in hotel operations, openings, repositioning and leadership across several major hospitality groups.
Neelabh Chugh brings more than 29 years of hospitality experience to his new position at The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula.

During his career, he has worked with some of the industry’s most recognised international and Indian hotel companies, including Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotel Group, Taj Group of Hotels, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and IHG Hotels & Resorts.
His professional experience has covered leadership assignments in several major Indian cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Ludhiana. This geographical exposure has given him experience across different hotel markets, operating environments and guest segments.
Chugh’s background also extends beyond day-to-day hotel management. He has been involved in hotel pre-openings and repositioning projects, areas that are particularly relevant to his new role as The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula prepares for its market entry.
Chugh’s appointment is closely aligned with the hotel’s current stage of development. A hotel opening involves considerably more than preparing rooms and public spaces for guests. It requires the creation of operational systems, recruitment and training, service standards, commercial strategies and a strong organisational culture before the first guest arrives.

Chugh has already led three hotel pre-openings and two hotel repositioning projects during his career. His appointment at The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula therefore represents his fourth hotel pre-opening assignment.
That experience could prove particularly valuable as the property prepares to establish itself as the first Vignette Collection hotel in India and South West Asia.
As General Manager, Chugh will oversee the full spectrum of hotel operations while helping shape the property’s strategic and commercial performance.
His responsibilities will include building the hotel’s operating team, establishing service standards and ensuring that the property is ready to deliver a consistent guest experience from launch. He will also play a central role in translating the Vignette Collection identity into the hotel’s operations while allowing the property to retain a strong connection with its destination.
The pre-opening period will therefore be critical in determining how The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula positions itself within the competitive Chandigarh Tricity hospitality market.
Vignette Collection is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio and is built around individually distinctive properties. Rather than imposing a single uniform hotel identity across every destination, the collection allows participating hotels to maintain their own character while operating within the wider Vignette Collection framework.
For The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula, this approach provides an opportunity to develop a property that reflects the character of the local destination while benefiting from the global reach and hospitality infrastructure associated with IHG Hotels & Resorts.
The Panchkula property will join an international collection that includes hotels across Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
Examples include Convent Square Lisbon, Vignette Collection, and Casa da Companhia, Vignette Collection, in Portugal; Yours Truly DC, Vignette Collection, in the United States; and The Ava Hotel Brisbane, Vignette Collection, in Australia.
The collection also includes Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort, Vignette Collection; Arabella Beach Hotel Kuwait, Vignette Collection; Aldhafra Resort, Vignette Collection, in the UAE; and Ciel Dubai Marina, Vignette Collection.
Commenting on his appointment, Neelabh Chugh said he was delighted to join The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula and become part of a property representing an important addition to IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the region.
He highlighted three priorities for the opening phase: developing a strong team culture, delivering thoughtful and consistent guest experiences, and bringing the individuality of the Vignette Collection brand to life.
Chugh also said he looked forward to working with the hotel team to establish the property as a preferred destination within the Chandigarh Tricity region.
His comments underline the importance of combining operational consistency with a sense of individuality, a central characteristic of the Vignette Collection concept.
The launch of The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula comes as the wider Chandigarh Tricity region continues to serve a diverse mix of business, leisure, events and domestic travel demand.
Panchkula’s proximity to Chandigarh and its position within the broader Tricity area give the hotel access to an established urban and regional market. The arrival of an internationally recognised luxury and lifestyle collection could further diversify the area’s hotel offering.
For IHG, the property also represents an important step in expanding the Vignette Collection brand into India and South West Asia. For the hotel itself, the challenge will be to combine the scale and standards of a global hospitality group with a distinctive identity rooted in its destination.
The combination of operational experience, pre-opening expertise and exposure to multiple hotel brands makes Chugh’s profile particularly relevant to the property’s launch.
He is an alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Lucknow, as well as the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. His educational background combines formal hospitality training with advanced management education, complementing his extensive practical experience.
Having already delivered three hotel openings and two repositioning projects, Chugh enters The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula with direct experience of the complex preparations required to move a hotel from development to operational readiness.
The immediate priority will be completing preparations for the hotel’s opening and establishing the operational foundation required for long-term performance.
Under Chugh’s leadership, the property will focus on building its team, preparing its guest services and introducing the Vignette Collection proposition to the Indian market.
As the first Vignette Collection hotel in India and South West Asia, The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula will carry significance beyond its own opening. Its performance will provide an early indication of how the collection’s distinctive luxury and lifestyle model can translate into the Indian hospitality landscape.
With an experienced General Manager now leading the pre-opening process, the hotel is positioning itself to enter the Chandigarh Tricity market with a clear focus on service, individuality and commercial performance.
