Colorado will face travel disruptions over the weekend a storm would bring accumulating snowfall and chill. As per AccuWeather, a storm along with a fresh push of Arctic air will bring snow to much of Colorado this weekend. The snow will create slippery travel conditions for anyone venturing out for other planned activities.
Road conditions will deteriorate across Interstate 25 and I-70 during this time frame. The road surfaces will become snow-packed and slippery as temperatures plummet. Snow showers in the Colorado Rockies will end the week. Snow will pick up in intensity from west to east across the state Saturday and Saturday night.
By the time the snow winds hit on Sunday morning, 3-6 inches may accumulate around Denver, with higher amounts past a foot in the mountains. The I-80 corridor through Cheyenne, Wyoming, is also expected to become treacherous with heavy snow, slippery spots and reduced visibility.
Temperatures are expected to moderate on Tuesday next week, but readings will still be a bit below normal for early March.
As snow showers linger across the Rockies on Sunday, the bulk of the snow from the storm will have spread through the central Plains and into the Ohio Valley and Northeast.
