The Spas at Mandarin Oriental are once again ‘turning down the volume’ with their annual ‘Silent Night’ event promoting an evening of silence, mindfulness and digital detox on Wednesday 8 December 2021.

The Group’s spas will offer exclusive mindful treatments in addition to the signature wellness offerings for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned. Talking and music will cease within the spas at 5pm, encouraging time for individual contemplation, mindfulness and disconnection from technology in these havens of tranquillity.

For those unable to join in person, a myriad of ‘Feeling Fantastic’ wellness workouts, information and exercises encompassing mindfulness, nutrition and more is available on the Group’s YouTube channel. In advance of 8 December, the Group will also host a virtual wellness Q&A through the Group’s Instagram via InstaStories on 7 and 8 December, sharing industry insights and wellness expertise.

Following Mandarin Oriental’s strategic alliance with Oberoi, O&MO – launched in 2020 – Oberoi spas in select hotels in India will also participate this year, widening the reach of this popular date in the global wellness calendar. Scheduled Silent Night activity includes; CBD yoga in Hong Kong, singing bowl therapy in Beijing, tea ceremonies in Barcelona and beach yoga in Dubai, along with guided breathwork and chakra balancing meditation sessions with Oberoi in Jaipur, Mumbai, New Delhi and beyond.

Jeremy McCarthy, Group Director of Spa & Wellness said “At Mandarin Oriental, we are passionate about creating tailored wellness experiences and maximising wellness time for our guests. This annual Mandarin Oriental ritual continues to serve as an important reminder to incorporate stillness and rest into our lives. This year, we are delighted to collaborate with our partners, The Oberoi Group – a brand with a long-established history and a wealth of wellness expertise.”

“Silence is key to restoring our inner peace, helping us connect with who we are and what we believe. As the world becomes increasingly noisy, and we are more digitally connected, I applaud Mandarin Oriental’s focus on providing a silent, peaceful retreat – and their commitment to the life changing benefits of stillness” said Susie Ellis, Chairman and CEO of The Wellness Institute.
