The New York Firefighters and the Police Department will again take part in the St.Patrick’s Day parade. It will be hosted on 5th Avenue, in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York. This parade comes after 2 years of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions. But after a long wait, the parade is back in the city.

The crowds dressed in emerald green were cheering marchers in kilts as they made their way down Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. The rain and the bad weather didn’t deter the crowds away who were cheering non-stop for the parade.

Local residents say that this event is the greatest things in the city. Marching bands playing bagpipes, performers and politicians all walked to celebrate Irish heritage, along with members of the New York City Fire Department and Police Department.

The parade began at 44th street on Fifth Avenue. It drew visitors from overseas and across the United States. Even some visitors from Ireland to celebrate the parade.

The parade turned south towards Ground Zero after halting around noon. At the Ground Zero they halted for a moment of silence to mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11 World Trade Center attacks.
