Visitors from all over the country has kept on driving the tourism industry of Florida at a record speed, as international travel is still in a struggling phase to reach the levels that existed pre-pandemic times.

That’s as per the figures of Visit Florida, the tourism marketing agency, for the third quarter of this current year. The figure shows the state during the third quarter, pulled around 35.115 million travelers, it’s a 6.9 percent rise from 2021. Also, the estimate was 8 percent above the same time in 2019, before the virus spread shut down the crucial tourism industry of the state.

From July 1 through September 30, the numbers in the fifth consecutive quarter, outpaced the corresponding quarter in 2019. This indicated the industry has majorly moved past the ill-impacts of the pandemic.

Visit Florida President and CEO Dana Young, said that in this US state, tourism is the number one industry and it’s the highest contributor to general revenue of their state. As a result, the health of their tourism economy is related to the health of their economy in a direct fashion. Dana also said another way, if they are not doing well, the economy is not going to be doing well either. So, the more people understand this matter, the better.

The estimates did not mirror Hurricane Ian’s impacts, which crashed into the southwest coast as a Category 4 system on September 28th.
