Ireckonu, a Hospitality Customer Data Platform (CDP) company, has urged the worldwide hospitality sector to synchronize guest data. Ireckonu celebrates World Tourism Day (September 27) by recognizing opportunities for travelers and hotel guests to have more personalized experiences. It has pioneered a hotel data innovation to put the hospitality industry’s disparate guest data at the core of its business to optimize engagement and build guest loyalty and experience.
A recent study by Ireckonu revealed that hotels are missing the opportunity to reconnect with up to 20% of guests due to fragmented data systems that limit accurate customer insights. The research showed that many hotels mainly capture room booking information, which represents only around 28% of overall guest activity. Meanwhile, up to 22% of guest transactions take place across operational areas such as restaurants, spas and other hotel services, highlighting significant opportunities for hotels to strengthen engagement, encourage repeat visits and build greater guest loyalty.

Hanna Schiller, Ireckonu’s VP Sales, said: “This year’s World Tourism Day theme of ‘Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism’ aligns perfectly with our goal of turning fragmented guest data into trusted and reliable data that the hospitality industry can use to create personalized services.
“AI represents a substantial opportunity for hoteliers to capitalize on their service and revenue potential. Those who embrace it and use the technology to their advantage by creating a trusted data set will have more opportunity to re-engage guests, improve recognition, and ultimately drive stronger loyalty and revenue growth.”

Ireckonu’s platform brings fragmented guest information together into a single, trusted customer profile, allowing hotel groups to better understand their guests, deliver personalised experiences and make data-driven decisions. The solution provides a complete view of guest preferences and behaviours throughout the entire journey, from booking and check-in to dining, wellness and other ancillary services, helping hotels create more seamless and connected experiences.

It says properties can improve their guest data by implementing some simple steps, which includes consistency across all touchpoints from the PMS, booking engine, loyalty and on-site POS.
“It’s not just about having the technology but knowing how to build consistency when cleaning, matching and merging data as well implementing robust governance to their systems. Having strong data is only valuable if you can use it consistently and reputedly to recognize guests and offer the personalized service many have come to expect. It must be accurate every time otherwise you risk losing that customer and their loyalty,” adds Schiller.
World Tourism Day is a United Nations-led global initiative established in 1980 to highlight the importance of tourism and its wide-ranging contributions to social, cultural, political and economic development worldwide.
