UP Group Asia to bring cooperation to Thai Hotel & Convention Centre Businesses as Client Demands Shift in 2026 UP Group Asia is set to promote a cooperation-focused strategy across the Thai hospitality industry as hotels and convention centres experience greater potential revenue and changing client demands in 2026. Darren Chia, Head of Partnerships and Venue Development at UP Group Asia, told Travel And Tour World that the company is going beyond event services to nurture long-term partnerships with hospitality enterprises. Our approach is to help our hotel and venue partners through a sustainable integrated solution that would add value to the guests, while helping the hotel properties increase their commercial value.

UP Group Asia focuses on long-term hotel partnerships

Darren Chia highlighted that UP Group Asia’s presence at the event has generated strong interest, with the company building meaningful connections and quality leads through industry engagement.

Having attended the event previously, Darren said the platform has continued to provide valuable opportunities for networking and developing partnerships within the hospitality and events sector.

He explained that UP Group Asia’s objective is not simply to provide a service for individual events but to establish ongoing relationships with hotels, convention centres and venues.

The company’s partnership model aims to help hospitality businesses increase revenue opportunities by working alongside existing teams rather than operating as a separate external provider.

“We partner with hotels to work with their in-house team to provide a full suite of services to their guests,” Darren explained.

Integrated services designed to support hospitality businesses

For Darren, one of the main factors that distinguishes UP Group Asia from its competitors is its innovative all-in-one services platform. “The way we approach things differs from a regular vendor. Instead of doing a normal sales pitch, we try to be partners that work alongside the hotel, offering a wider spectrum of solution services that can be provided to guests.

It gives venues and hotels a way to offer guests more while still collaborating with their own teams,” he added.

According to Darren, UP Group Asia has already been able to successfully develop this concept in Singapore and is now aiming to adapt the strategy to the Thai market and other Asian countries. “Our role will be in assisting the venue or convention centre in generating more value to their customer base, as well as their revenue potential,” he concluded.

Thailand gains momentum as a regional events destination

Discussing current trends in hotel revenue, Darren pointed to changes in the Asian events landscape.

He explained that events and conventions are increasingly moving towards more centralised destinations, with Bangkok and Thailand becoming attractive locations for regional gatherings.

According to Darren, Thailand offers strong appeal for international delegates, with visitors generally showing high interest in attending events in the country.

He said Thailand remains a destination where delegates are highly willing to travel, making it an important market for the growth of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

The shift in regional event activity is creating new opportunities for hotels and convention centres to strengthen their offerings and attract more business.

Value-conscious travellers reshape hotel expectations

Darren noted that clients in 2026 are becoming increasingly focused on value when booking hotels and convention facilities.

He explained that guests are looking for more benefits and stronger experiences from their bookings, encouraging hospitality businesses to provide additional value at competitive costs.

UP Group Asia aims to help hotels respond to these changing expectations by providing solutions that enhance guest offerings without requiring significant additional investment from property owners.

Darren added that hotels with smaller budgets can also benefit from the company’s partnership model.

He explained that UP Group Asia works with suitable partners and can provide full-service installation support at no cost to hotel owners under its approach.

Moving hospitality services beyond event-by-event models

Darren identified a difference between UP Group Asia’s approach and many traditional service providers in the exhibition and hospitality sector.

He said many companies continue to operate through individual event-based models, while UP Group Asia is focusing on developing longer-term partnerships.

The company believes stronger collaboration between service providers, hotels and venues can create more consistent value for guests.

Darren emphasised that the company’s vision is based on building lasting relationships rather than focusing only on short-term opportunities.

“We are here for the long term. We’re not here for a quick buck. We’re here to stay and provide the best services together with you to your guests,” Darren said.

Thailand hospitality outlook remains positive

He was also asked to share some of the challenges that the tourism industry in Thailand is facing and Darren noted that he did not see any significant issue facing the market. Thailand remains a popular country with international visitors and there is still keen interest from delegates coming to events. For UP Group Asia, Thailand remains a key growth market as the hotel and MICE industry continues to adjust to evolving customer demands. With our partnership-driven approach, we are working with hotels and venues to help them deliver a better experience to their guests and generate new revenue streams across Asia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX9w6qPzGMQ
