The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia has reinforced its strategic collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to drive long-term inclusive, sustainable, and resilient tourism growth. H.E. Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, engaged in high-level discussions with a senior ADB delegation led by Ms. Lisa Wright, Alternate Executive Director (Region). The meeting, which included representatives from multiple ministries, focused on promoting equitable tourism benefits, enhancing destination infrastructure, and improving livelihoods for local communities.

Through such an approach of policy direction combined with investments, this partnership intends to grow Cambodia’s tourism industry in such a manner that it will benefit all parties involved thus making it possible for inclusive development in the future.

ADB Partnership Enhances Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism Development

Over the years, the Ministry of Tourism and ADB have successfully implemented multiple projects supporting eco-tourism, local employment, and equitable access to tourism resources. Key projects include the international tourist port in Kampot province, inaugurated by Prime Minister Hun Manet in April 2025, which provides improved access for visitors while generating employment for local communities.
