Indonesia to Host ITB Asia Select Travel Trade Show With ASITA in Jakarta in June 2027 as Singapore Remains ITB Asia’s Flagship Hub

Messe Berlin Asia Pacific will be launching ITB Asia Select Indonesia in Jakarta on 23 June and 24 June 2027, in partnership with the Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA). The B2B travel show is set to connect Indonesian travel buyers with international destinations, tourism suppliers and exhibitors, ushering in a new era for the ITB Asia regional expansion.
Indonesia will become the first market for the ITB Asia Select series, which will introduce focused trade events in selected Asian markets. The Jakarta edition follows the rebranding of Travel Meet Asia Jakarta and builds on an existing partnership between the two organisations.

Partnership Agreement Advances Jakarta Event
Messe Berlin Asia Pacific and ASITA signed a memorandum of understanding during ITB Asia 2026 in Singapore to support the development of ITB Asia Select Indonesia. ASITA’s official announcement, published on 21 October 2026, confirms the launch and agreement between the organisations.
The agreement extends their existing collaboration on Travel Meet Asia and provides the basis for the event’s next phase under the Select identity. It brings together the organiser’s international tourism connections and ASITA’s relationships with Indonesian travel businesses. The partnership centres on helping participating companies establish contacts, explore overseas markets and develop business relationships across the travel industry.

Travel Meet Asia Jakarta Takes on a New Identity
Travel Meet Asia Jakarta will become ITB Asia Select Indonesia, placing the event directly under the ITB Asia brand. The transition builds on Travel Meet Asia 2026, which was also developed through cooperation between Messe Berlin Asia Pacific and ASITA.
The event will retain its focus on linking Indonesia’s travel industry with international destinations and tourism suppliers. Its new identity is intended to strengthen its international visibility and connect participants more closely with the wider ITB network. The change therefore continues an established trade event while positioning Jakarta as the starting point for the organiser’s new series of Asian shows.

Indonesian Buyers Become the Focus of the First Edition
Indonesia’s selection reflects the organiser’s assessment of its potential as a source market for international travel. The Jakarta show will give overseas exhibitors a dedicated setting to meet Indonesian buyers and explore partnerships with businesses serving travellers from the country.
For international destinations and tourism suppliers, the event’s stated purpose is to support direct engagement with the local travel trade. Indonesian companies will, in turn, gain opportunities to meet overseas partners and broaden their supplier contacts. These exchanges form the commercial focus of the event, with business development and stronger international relationships among the objectives outlined for the new platform.
Organisers Combine Global Reach With Local Knowledge
Messe Berlin Asia Pacific will contribute international sales and marketing support, its global industry network and expertise in developing international buyer participation. These responsibilities will support the event’s outreach to tourism businesses and help connect the Jakarta edition with the broader ITB community.
ASITA will contribute its Indonesian industry network, local market knowledge and relationships with travel companies and other stakeholders. Its involvement will support engagement within Indonesia and help shape the event around the market’s needs. Together, the partners intend to combine international participation with local industry access as they develop the first ITB Asia Select Indonesia trade show.
New Series Targets Selected Asian Travel Markets
The wider ITB Asia Select series will bring dedicated B2B travel shows to Asian markets identified by the organiser for further development. Each event is intended to connect international tourism businesses with local and regional partners through cooperation with established industry organisations.
The format allows individual editions to reflect the characteristics and business needs of their host markets. Local partnerships will guide that approach, while the ITB brand provides international recognition and access to its industry network. Indonesia is the first market identified for the rollout, establishing the initial platform for this additional layer of engagement across Asia’s travel trade.

Singapore Remains the Flagship Regional Marketplace
ITB Asia in Singapore will retain its position as the brand’s flagship regional event as the Select series develops. The Singapore exhibition will continue to bring together international travel businesses, while the new events provide additional opportunities to engage with buyers in individual Asian markets.
The two formats will complement each other in the organiser’s portfolio. Singapore will continue to be the main regional meeting point and ITB Asia Select will further develop contacts with local travel communities. The Jakarta edition, scheduled to take place in June 2027, marks the first step towards implementing that approach in cooperation with ASITA.
