The programme is designed to modernise the onboard experience without fundamentally altering the ship’s established character.
Passengers travelling after the renovation will encounter refreshed interiors and updated venues intended to make time spent at sea more enjoyable.
The project also forms part of a broader effort to keep Azamara’s existing vessels attractive in an increasingly competitive cruise market.
Discoveries Restaurant and Atlas Bar Among Key Upgrades
Food and beverage facilities will play a central role in the forthcoming renovation.
Discoveries Restaurant will receive a new look, creating an updated setting for passengers enjoying meals onboard.
Another addition will be a dedicated Chef’s Table experience, expanding the ship’s speciality dining choices.

Meanwhile, the Cabaret Lounge will undergo a transformation as part of improvements to the vessel’s entertainment facilities.
Together, the changes will refresh several of the ship’s most important social spaces, where passengers spend time dining, relaxing and enjoying entertainment during their cruises.
Passenger Suites, Cabins and Spa Facilities Set for Refresh
Accommodation and wellness areas are also included in the refurbishment plans.
Azamara Journey’s staterooms and suites will receive enhancements intended to improve the passenger experience throughout longer voyages.
The Sanctum Spa will undergo a complete refresh, updating one of the ship’s principal relaxation facilities.

Other public areas will also benefit from improvements, contributing to a more consistent appearance across the vessel.
However, Azamara has confirmed that the Penthouse Deck will not be installed on Azamara Journey, despite earlier plans.
The exclusive feature will instead remain available only aboard Azamara Quest, distinguishing that vessel from other ships participating in the modernisation programme.
Azamara Quest and Azamara Onward Lead Fleet Modernisation
The Azamara Forward programme follows a phased schedule, allowing the cruise line to introduce improvements across multiple vessels.
Azamara Quest is scheduled to undergo its renovation in November 2026 before welcoming passengers aboard its first post-refurbishment voyage on 18 December 2026.
The next vessel scheduled for upgrades is Azamara Onward, with its refurbishment planned for 2027.
