Bermuda Tourism Gains Momentum with $550 Million Hotel Investment and Expanded Air and Cruise Routes

Bermuda Tourism Gains Momentum with $550 Million Hotel Investment and Expanded Air and Cruise Routes as the island strengthens its international travel industry. Rising visitor spending, luxury resort developments, improved connectivity and new attractions are creating fresh opportunities for leisure travellers, cruise passengers and business events through 2027 and beyond.
Bermuda Records Higher Visitor Spending and Cruise Arrivals
Bermuda is strengthening its position as a premium Atlantic tourism destination through rising visitor expenditure, infrastructure investment and expanding international connections.
According to tourism figures highlighted by World Travel Market on 22 October 2026, Bermuda welcomed 97,724 air visitors and 235,179 cruise passengers during the first six months of 2026.
Cruise arrivals increased by approximately 10% compared with the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, spending by air visitors reached $204.6 million, representing year-on-year growth of around 8%.

Although overall air arrivals recorded modest growth, Canada and the United Kingdom delivered particularly encouraging increases.
These figures suggest that Bermuda is benefiting from higher visitor spending while maintaining its appeal among international travellers seeking premium accommodation, coastal experiences and cultural attractions.

These services could provide travellers with additional regional connections and strengthen Bermuda’s links with important tourism markets.
Cultural Attractions and Adventure Tourism Create New Experiences
Bermuda is diversifying its visitor experiences beyond traditional beach holidays.

Its Travel Pro Bermuda Specialist Programme, launched in January 2026 with TravPRO Mobile, provides travel advisors with destination training, marketing resources and sales support.
The initiative aims to improve destination knowledge and help international travel professionals promote Bermuda’s growing tourism portfolio.
Bermuda’s tourism outlook remains positive as investment, connectivity and visitor experiences continue to expand. Higher cruise arrivals, growing air visitor spending and major hotel redevelopment projects are strengthening the island’s international appeal. With further developments planned through 2029, Bermuda is preparing for broader leisure and business tourism opportunities.
