73.9 mln international tourists visited Spain during the first 10 months of 2018

As per the Statistical Office (INE) Spain has received a total of 73.9 million international tourists in the first 10 months of the year.

 

 

It was revealed that the figure was 0.5 percent higher than the same period last year. There were 16.7 million from Britain and this was followed by French and Germans.

 

 

 

However, Spain’s northeastern region of Catalonia was chosen as the main destination and it received more than 17.1 million international tourists from January to October.

 

 

In the first 10 months of the year the international tourist spent was 79.92 billion euros or 90.71 billion US dollars in the country. This showed a 2.7 percent rise as compared to the same period last year.

 

 

Spain received 7.6 million international visitors in October which implied a 5 percent rise year-on-year.

 

 

The spending was 8.15 billion euros intending a 4.6 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2017.

 

 

As for October, Spain received 7.6 million international visitors, which meant a 5 percent rise year-on-year. They spent 8.15 billion euros, meaning a 4.6 percent increase when compare with October, 2017.

 

 

Spain’s State Secretary for Tourism Isabel Oliver was happy with the outcome.
