Air Canada is improving its loyalty program in anticipation of enhanced credit card benefits and changes to the Aeroplan program from 2027. From this date, members of Air Canada’s loyalty program will be able to take advantage of more flexibility and better value when when traveling internationally. This will include more benefits when members of the program plan and book their travel.

The latest improvements build on Aeroplan’s strong market position by providing cardholders with greater value, increased savings opportunities and enhanced travel benefits. More Savings And Greater Value Across Every Journey

Aeroplan is introducing a new range of easy-to-use benefits designed to help cardholders save more and enjoy greater value throughout their travel experience. The enhanced benefits will support members from the moment they plan their trip until they reach their destination.

15% Savings On Air Canada Flight Rewards

From 12 January 2027, all primary Aeroplan Credit Cardholders will receive a 15% points discount when redeeming Aeroplan points for Air Canada flight rewards. The new benefit will allow members to stretch their points further and unlock more travel opportunities with their accumulated rewards.

New Air Canada Travel Credits Through AC Wallet

Aeroplan is also introducing Air Canada travel benefits through AC Wallet. Premium Cardholders will receive up to CAD 100 annually towards Air Canada travel, provided through two separate CAD 50 credits each year.

Core Cardholders will receive up to CAD 50 annually, delivered through two CAD 25 credits. The first travel credit benefit will become available from 15 January 2027, giving members additional flexibility when booking eligible Air Canada travel.

Free Fourth Day On Car Rental Rewards

Building on the success of Aeroplan’s existing hotel reward benefits, cardholders will now receive a fourth day free when using Aeroplan points for eligible car rental redemptions. This new ongoing benefit will provide additional value for travellers looking to combine flights with ground transportation during their trips.

Permanent Fourth Night Free Hotel Benefit

The popular fourth night free hotel redemption benefit, previously offered as a limited-time promotion, will become a permanent feature from 12 January 2027. Eligible Aeroplan Credit Cardholders will be able to redeem points for qualifying hotel stays and receive the fourth night free, creating more opportunities for longer and more rewarding trips.

Existing Card Benefits Remain Available

Aeroplan confirmed that current travel benefits will continue for eligible cardholders. These include popular advantages such as complimentary first checked bags and priority boarding on qualifying cards. All other existing card features will remain unchanged.

Premium Cardholders Receive Enhanced Airport Advantages

Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders will gain access to additional airport benefits designed to create a smoother and more comfortable travel experience.

Global Maple Leaf Lounge Access

A premium airport benefit previously limited to North American locations will be expanded globally. Premium Cardholders, along with one travel companion, will gain access to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges worldwide, in addition to the existing Air Canada Café access available at selected Canadian locations.

Priority Security Access At Selected Airports

Premium Cardholders will also receive access to dedicated Priority Security lanes at participating airports worldwide. The benefit will apply to the cardholder and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation, helping eligible travellers experience a faster airport journey.

Continued Premium Travel Privileges

Premium Cardholders will continue receiving existing exclusive benefits, including Priority Check-In, Priority Boarding, Priority Baggage Handling, Priority Airport Standby, a 10% Head Start, up to 25,000 Status Qualifying Credits and additional travel advantages.

Aeroplan Expands Benefits Throughout The Complete Travel Journey

The upgraded Aeroplan Credit Card programme will combine existing rewards with new travel-focused benefits to support members at every stage of their journey. Cardholders will continue earning Aeroplan points through everyday purchases and through the programme’s wide partner network, including Starbucks, Uber, LCBO and more than 900 Avolta airport retail locations.

The portfolio-wide improvements represent Aeroplan’s continued focus on delivering stronger value, greater flexibility and enhanced travel experiences for its members.
