The Rimrock Banff is set to undergo a major repositioning, reopening in summer 2026 after a comprehensive US$115 million, property-wide transformation that significantly expands its capabilities for meetings, events, and luxury group experiences. The redevelopment introduces more than 18,000 square feet of newly designed event space spread across 10 versatile venues, strengthening the resort’s appeal as a leading mountain destination for corporate gatherings, incentive travel, and social occasions. In autumn 2026, the property will further elevate its positioning by joining the Accor portfolio under its newly launched ultra-luxury Emblems Collection, becoming the brand’s first resort in North America.

Located within the protected landscapes of Banff National Park, the reimagined resort is designed to offer a highly immersive setting where dramatic alpine scenery enhances every stage of the meeting experience. Groups arriving at the property are welcomed through a dedicated private check-in process, reinforcing a sense of exclusivity from the outset. Event programming is tailored to suit a wide range of formats, with capacity reaching up to 600 guests while still preserving a sense of intimacy and exclusivity throughout the property.

The meeting portfolio includes a mix of flexible spaces engineered for different scales of engagement. Smaller executive sessions are supported by refined venues such as The Meridian Boardroom, which offers natural light and a focused environment for strategic discussions. At the other end of the spectrum, the Solstice Ballroom provides over 6,000 square feet of contemporary event space, designed to host large conferences, banquets, and high-profile celebrations. Across all venues, layouts are adaptable and supported by advanced on-site technology delivered in partnership with Encore Global, ensuring seamless execution of hybrid and in-person formats.

Leading this new phase of development is newly appointed Director of Sales & Marketing David Marques, who will oversee the strategic rollout of the resort’s group and events offering ahead of its 2026 opening. His mandate includes strengthening global partnerships, expanding MICE demand, and positioning the property as a premier choice for high-value meetings and incentive travel.

Marques brings extensive international hospitality experience. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Accor’s Mercure London Earls Court, where he managed group and events performance during a significant refurbishment and repositioning phase. Earlier, he held a senior MICE leadership role at The May Fair Hotel in London, part of Radisson Collection, where he managed a multimillion-dollar events portfolio and built strong relationships across global agency networks and incentive partners. His background reflects deep expertise in driving large-scale group business and delivering complex international event programmes.

With its extensive transformation, expanded facilities, and strengthened leadership, Rimrock Banff is positioning itself as a standout luxury mountain venue for global meetings and incentive travel markets.

“To open a property like Rimrock Banff in a destination as extraordinary as Banff National Park is a rare opportunity,” said David Marques. “My goal is to create experiences where groups can connect with each other, and with nature, in ways that feel inspiring, transformative, and deeply rooted in the beauty of Banff.”

BEYOND THE MEETING ROOM

At Rimrock Banff, dining is designed as a deliberate craft, where precision, creativity, and culinary discipline come together to elevate the conference experience. The resort moves beyond conventional banquet formats, introducing a more sophisticated and expressive approach to group dining, while also offering flexible spaces for full buyouts, private gatherings, and informal networking moments.

At the centre of its gastronomic identity is Parker’s Table, the signature restaurant inspired by Canadian terroir. It includes two exclusive private dining rooms, each accommodating up to 10 guests, making them well-suited for executive dinners, leadership meetings, or discreet small-group discussions. The setting blends culinary intimacy with a strong sense of place, reinforcing the resort’s focus on refined hospitality.

Within the property, Rimrock Social functions as a vibrant communal space where professional conversations naturally extend beyond formal meetings. It transitions seamlessly from morning coffee sessions to evening cocktails, supporting both productivity and relaxed social exchange throughout the day.

For guests seeking a quieter atmosphere, The Listening Room provides an intimate escape shaped by curated rare spirits, premium wines, elevated small plates, and the distinctive ambience of vinyl music, including occasional live performances that enhance its character.

Completing the experience, Rimrock Market operates as a casual alpine-style coffee bar and biergarten. It delivers a relaxed morning-to-midday rhythm with artisan coffee, fresh pastries, light bites, and a rotating selection of locally brewed craft beers, offering an easy, informal space that keeps guests energised between meetings and activities.

“Rimrock’s culinary program is designed with intention at every level, drawing from local flavors and ingredient-driven storytelling to elevate group dining beyond the expected,” said Karla Garant, director of food, beverage and entertainment. “Artful presentation, precise execution and moments of interaction shape the experience, establishing a level of care that carries through the entire guest experience.”

The resort’s 320 newly redesigned guest rooms and suites are crafted to evoke a refined residential atmosphere, blending generous layouts with uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Interiors are defined by natural textures, soft earth-toned finishes and layered wood accents, creating a calm, restorative environment ideal for relaxation and focus between business sessions.

For deeper rejuvenation, guests can access the expansive 9,600-square-foot Bathhouse, a wellness sanctuary designed for recovery and balance. Featuring hydrothermal therapy circuits, vitality pools and panoramic mountain-facing relaxation zones, it provides a restorative counterpoint to intensive meeting schedules and outdoor exploration.

Beyond the resort, the surrounding alpine wilderness becomes an integral part of the group experience at Rimrock Banff. Set within more than 2,500 square miles of protected national parkland, the property curates immersive, guided programmes that allow groups to engage meaningfully with Banff National Park. These experiences are led by the resort’s Pathfinders—specialist guides and local storytellers who shape each journey into a deeper connection with place, culture and landscape. Activities range from half-day and full-day excursions to mindful interludes between sessions, including guided forest walks designed to restore clarity, focus and group cohesion.

Groups also benefit from integrated access to programming at the historic Fairmont Banff Springs, the resort’s sister property within the Accor portfolio. This dual-property approach enables seamless movement between two of Banff’s most iconic destinations, collectively offering more than 95,000 square feet of event and meeting space, over 50 indoor and outdoor venues, and approximately 900 rooms and suites. Coordinated transport, unified logistics and shared event management ensure smooth operations across both sites, while attendees enjoy a broad spectrum of wellness, dining and recreational offerings throughout Banff National Park. Dedicated event teams oversee every detail, from concept design to real-time communication systems that keep participants connected across both properties throughout their programme.
