ITB Berlin 2024 dazzles with 90% space booked, showcasing global travel trends and innovation from over 5,500 exhibitors in Berlin.

The ITB Berlin event, scheduled for March 5-7, 2024, on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, has seen remarkable demand, filling over 90% of its 150,000 square meters of exhibition space. With an 87% international exhibitor rate, it marks a new peak in global participation at this leading travel industry event. The ITB Buyers Circle, featuring 1,300 top buyers, is a key indicator of the event’s worldwide significance. Notable growth in sectors such as Mobility, Travel Technology, and Cruises, alongside the participation of this year’s Host Country, Oman, and other Arab nations, showcases the broad range of the more than 5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries.

Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin: “ITB Berlin is the meeting place for the tourism industry’s entire value chain, once again underlining its global importance as a leading international trade show. The outstanding quality of our senior buyers and excellent bookings reflect upbeat travel demand. Once again, ITB Berlin is cementing its position as a global expert forum and hub for innovations and trends. Despite rising travel demand, our industry also faces many challenges such as climate change, an energy crisis, the march of AI and skills shortages. They can only be overcome together. That is why it is so important for us to gather all the actors in Berlin so we can benefit from mutual inspiration, learn from each other and work on solutions together.”

With the theme ‘Beauty Has An Address,’ Oman, this year’s Host Country, is prominently featured and involved in various activities, including the ITB Berlin Convention. The country will display its 5,000-year history and cultural richness, highlighted by an opening ceremony that will take attendees on a journey through Oman’s diverse landscape. This ceremony will see key political and tourism leaders, along with a performance by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra.

The ITB Berlin Convention, aiming to ‘Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together,’ will cover numerous topics across 200 sessions and four stages, featuring 400 speakers from renowned organizations. This event will delve into the future of tourism, showcasing innovations and sustainable practices.

A survey conducted by the ITB Buyers Circle in collaboration with Dr. Fried & Partner has provided insights from 1,000 selected buyers, reflecting a positive economic outlook and a diverse interest in travel services. The second edition of the ITB Innovation Radar highlights 16 groundbreaking innovations in the travel industry, from AI-driven services to sustainable travel solutions.

According to IPK International’s World Travel Monitor®, 2023 saw a significant rebound in global outbound travel, with Asia experiencing a 140% increase. The report highlights popular destinations and trends, indicating a recovery trajectory for the travel industry.

ITB Berlin 2024 enhances networking and event experiences, offering a variety of meetings and discussions aimed at fostering direct interactions among participants. New features like the Meeting Cubes and the Hybrid Stage complement the digital ITBxplore platform, providing a comprehensive way for attendees to connect and engage.

The expansion to five additional halls underscores ITB Berlin’s role as a global hub for the travel industry, featuring a wide array of countries and segments, from the Mobility and Cruise sectors to Travel Technology. The event continues to serve as a crucial platform for showcasing innovations, fostering connections, and driving the future of travel and tourism.
