The efforts of Jordan towards business events continue to increase in an attempt to capture more of the international business events market. These efforts include international engagement in the sector, existing convention centres, and destination features that will appeal to the target groups. A notable effort that took place in June 2026 was the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Middle East Summit, which was held at the Dead Sea in Jordan. The summit involved professionals in the tourism industry, conventions as well as experts in the sector from more than 11 countries, giving Jordan a chance to showcase its business event facilities to international and regional leaders in the sector. The JTB considered the summit as an important platform for making partnerships, sharing industry knowledge and securing additional international events. It further stressed the importance of MICE tourism in terms of economic impact via international visitor expenditure, business connections and investment opportunities.

Dead Sea Convention Infrastructure Supports Large Events

The Dead Sea remains central to Jordan’s MICE proposition, particularly because of its established hospitality and conference facilities.

One of the principal venues is the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, located on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. Managed by Hilton, the facility covers approximately 24,000 square metres and features 27 conference halls, lounges, foyers and outdoor terraces.

Its capacity to accommodate more than 3,000 guests makes it suitable for large international conferences, corporate gatherings, exhibitions and business meetings.

The location also offers organisers an opportunity to combine formal conference programmes with leisure experiences. Delegates can stay at nearby resorts, visit the Dead Sea shoreline and explore surrounding attractions as part of their corporate itineraries.

For incentive travel planners, the destination provides opportunities to organise wellness programmes, group activities and private hospitality experiences. The combination of conference infrastructure and resort accommodation is particularly relevant to companies seeking venues where meetings and employee reward programmes can take place within the same destination.

Jordan’s official MICE promotion also highlights Amman and Petra as additional locations for corporate events, gala dinners and smaller business gatherings.

International Outreach Builds Industry Relationships

The ICCA Middle East Summit provided Jordan with direct access to professionals involved in organising international business events. These included convention bureau representatives, tourism stakeholders and specialists responsible for identifying destinations for conferences and corporate gatherings.

Such industry engagement is important because MICE bookings often involve long planning cycles. International associations and multinational companies can evaluate destinations well in advance, considering venue capacity, accommodation, transport connections, visa requirements and the availability of local event suppliers.

Jordan’s dedicated MICE and conventions activities aim to connect these organisers with hotels, venues and tourism service providers. The Jordan Convention Bureau also offers support with destination information, venue negotiations, site inspections and bids for international events.

The board’s wider promotional strategy includes participation in international trade fairs, business workshops, roadshows and familiarisation visits. These activities allow event planners to assess facilities and develop relationships with local suppliers before committing to major programmes.

For Jordan, attracting repeat business-event bookings could provide a more diversified source of international visitor spending, particularly through corporate groups that require accommodation, transport, catering and event-management services.

Electronic Visa Services Support International Accessibility

Visa accessibility is another consideration for international event organisers planning travel for delegates from multiple countries.

Jordan already operates an electronic visa system through its Ministry of Interior. The platform allows eligible travellers to submit applications, pay applicable fees and obtain their visas electronically before travelling. The ministry’s electronic services also cover different visa categories, including visit and transit applications.

Importantly, the electronic visa system was introduced in 2023, rather than being a newly deployed initiative specifically created for the latest MICE campaign. Its continued availability forms part of the country’s broader digital travel administration.

For corporate event organisers, online visa applications can make preparation easier for eligible international delegates, although requirements and approval procedures vary according to nationality and individual circumstances.

Jordan also launched the Ahlan Jordan digital platform in July 2026, providing inbound visitors with an online route to plan and book tourism programmes. Its initial packages range from three to eight days and include accommodation, transport, tour guide services and entry to selected archaeological attractions.

The platform initially targets several regional markets, including the Gulf countries, Iraq, Egypt and neighbouring destinations.

Petra, Amman and the Dead Sea Add Incentive Travel Options

Jordan’s advantage in the corporate events market extends beyond its conference facilities. Its tourism attractions give organisers opportunities to build destination experiences around business programmes.

Petra offers a distinctive setting for private dinners, cultural activities and corporate hospitality. The ancient Nabataean city is among the country’s principal international attractions and provides a different environment from conventional urban conference venues.

Amman offers another option through its hotels, restaurants and historic locations. The Citadel and Roman Theatre provide settings for cultural visits and selected private events, while the capital’s hospitality infrastructure supports meetings and business accommodation.

The Dead Sea, meanwhile, provides a resort-focused environment for incentive programmes and employee retreats. Companies can combine conference sessions with wellness activities and leisure stays, creating itineraries that appeal to corporate groups seeking both professional and recreational experiences.

These destinations give Jordan the ability to develop multi-location itineraries, connecting business meetings with cultural and leisure tourism.

Jordan Seeks Greater International Business Tourism

The MICE initiative in Jordan is part of efforts to boost investment in the tourism sector, gain international market access and increase the length of stay by tourists in the country. The Jordan-EU Investment Conference that will take place on 19 November 2026 in the Dead Sea region is an opportunity to advertise the investment opportunities in Jordan’s tourism and hospitality sectors to investors and business executives from Europe. Members of the tourism and hospitality industry have stated the need for increased connectivity via air, working relationships with tour operators and travel packages as ways of drawing more visitors from Europe. In Jordan, the issue will be translating the international industry’s interest into bookings for conferences, retreats and repeat visitations. Air connectivity, venue space, competition in accommodations and ease of entry by visitors will play a role in Jordan’s ability to draw bigger events.
