Mauritius’ luxury hospitality landscape is entering a new chapter as Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita appoints Gregory Viaud as General Manager following an extensive seven-month transformation. The leadership change matters because the luxury resort in Mauritius has recently reimagined its all-pool villas and residence rentals, introduced new dining concepts and further enhanced OSEYAN Spa.
With more than two decades of Four Seasons experience, Viaud has been selected to guide the resort’s next phase. His appointment is expected to place renewed emphasis on destination-led experiences, team development, Mauritian culture and stronger connections between guests, community and the island’s natural environment.
The appointment has been made at a defining point for Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita. A seven-month transformation has been completed, with the property’s all-pool villas and residence rentals reimagined. New dining concepts have also been introduced, while OSEYAN Spa has been further enhanced.
The spa is described by the resort as Mauritius’ only overwater spa. These changes now form the backdrop to a leadership transition intended to guide the property after its renewal. Under Gregory Viaud, attention will be directed towards strengthening the resort’s sense of place while Mauritian hospitality remains central to the guest experience.

For a luxury resort in Mauritius, the appointment links a major physical transformation with a new management phase. Guest experiences will be shaped around the upgraded resort as well as the island’s culture, communities and natural environment.
Gregory Viaud arrives from Four Seasons Hotel Rabat Kasr Al Bahr, where the hotel’s launch in Morocco’s capital was led by him as opening General Manager.
His Four Seasons career was started at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane in 2004 after graduation from Vatel Nîmes Hotel and Tourism Business School in southern France. Experience was later gained across Bora Bora, Bali and Maui, followed by Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.
Leadership roles were subsequently held at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center and Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. His career has therefore covered city hotels, major resorts and island destinations within the Four Seasons portfolio. This breadth of experience has been built across several international hospitality markets.
Eight years were spent across Four Seasons resorts in Bora Bora, Bali and Maui, giving Viaud significant familiarity with island hospitality. Through those assignments, an appreciation was developed for the connection between resorts, local communities and the natural environment.
That perspective is now being brought to a luxury resort in Mauritius where the destination is intended to remain an important part of the guest journey. Viaud has indicated that memorable hotels and resorts should belong authentically to their destinations. Mauritius’ people, cultures, landscapes and traditions will consequently be important to the experiences developed under his leadership.
A people-first leadership philosophy has been developed throughout Gregory Viaud’s career. Exceptional guest experiences are viewed as being supported by empowered teams, genuine relationships and a strong sense of purpose. That approach will now be applied at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita as its post-transformation phase begins.
A deeper connection with the local community will also be pursued. Luxury hospitality at the resort will be linked with experiences designed to help guests engage more closely with Mauritius rather than remaining separated from the destination.
The warmth of Mauritian hospitality will be celebrated, while the property’s identity will be reinforced through its cultural and natural setting. In this approach, luxury hospitality will be expressed through service as well as through a stronger connection to place.
The next phase will combine transformed facilities with destination-led hospitality. Gregory Viaud will oversee the renewed villas, residence rentals, dining concepts and spa offering while building on the resort’s established identity.
His familiarity with island life also fits this direction. Outside work, time is spent with his wife and two children, while running, football and tennis are among his interests. An appreciation for the ocean and marine life has also been developed during his years in island destinations.
For the luxury resort in Mauritius, the leadership transition places culture, community and nature alongside the physical improvements already completed. Luxury hospitality will therefore continue to be connected with both the resort and the wider character of Mauritius.
Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is entering its next phase with Gregory Viaud appointed to lead the transformed property. His more than two decades of Four Seasons experience, including leadership across island resorts and international hotels, will be applied to a luxury resort in Mauritius that has renewed its villas, residences, dining and spa offering.
The focus will remain on people, destination identity and stronger connections with Mauritian culture and community. As the resort moves beyond its seven-month transformation, luxury hospitality will be shaped by upgraded facilities, established Four Seasons service values and experiences rooted closely in Mauritius itself.
