Malaysia Airlines Wins World’s Best and Asia’s Best MICE Airline Titles for 2026

The Malaysian national carrier has received the award for the title of World’s Best MICE Airline 2026 as well as Asia’s Best MICE Airline 2026 at the World MICE Awards. It has been the first time that Malaysia Airlines has been awarded in each of these two categories. Such awards help the airline to occupy an important position in the global market of flights for business events, which involves competition among airlines for such groups of passengers as corporate travellers, conference delegates and participants in incentive travel programs. Both awards were announced during the ceremony of the World MICE Awards held at Princess Grand Jamaica on 12 October 2026. Malaysia Airlines has officially announced the winning of these two awards on 15 October. According to the airline, such achievements are an important landmark for the airline itself and the parent company – Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG). MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions and is an important sector that combines business travel, event planning, hospitality and destination management and creates demand for coordinated air transport and accommodation. MICE airlines have to service passengers travelling in groups according to the predetermined schedule and with special arrangements.
MHcorporate Events Supports Group Travel
Malaysia Airlines has developed a dedicated offering for business events through its MHcorporate EVENTS programme. The service is designed for event organisers, meeting planners and companies arranging travel for employees, executives, conference participants and incentive groups.

The programme provides tailored travel arrangements and exclusive fares for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other group events. Its offering is supported by the airline’s network and that of sister carrier Firefly, giving organisers access to a wider range of destinations and travel options.
Malaysia Airlines states that its MICE travel solutions connect business-event customers to more than 70 destinations worldwide. This network gives organisers options for bringing delegates together across regional and international markets, while supporting companies planning employee gatherings, corporate meetings and reward trips.

The programme also covers different event requirements, from smaller corporate meetings to larger movements of employees and conference participants. Organisers can access dedicated support and personalised travel arrangements according to their needs.
Such services are important in a segment where travel planning often involves more than purchasing individual tickets. Event organisers may need to coordinate arrival dates, group bookings, passenger information and airport arrangements, particularly when hundreds of delegates are travelling to the same destination.

Group Travel Services Add to the Airline’s Offering
Malaysia Airlines’ corporate event services include preferential fares and special group rates through Malaysia Airlines and Firefly. The airline also lists pre-arranged meet-and-greet services at departure and arrival airports, along with dedicated check-in arrangements at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
These facilities can help event organisers manage passenger movements at busy airports, particularly when delegates are travelling together or arriving within a limited time window.
The airline also offers arrangements for international and national conferences, exhibitions, concerts and lifestyle events. This gives its MICE programme a wider role across corporate travel and organised group movements.
Digital access is another part of the wider corporate travel environment. Malaysia Airlines provides dedicated corporate travel services through its MHcorporate platform, while its event programme offers tailored arrangements for organisers and meeting planners. The combination allows the carrier to address different business travel requirements rather than relying solely on conventional passenger bookings.
Operational Reliability Remains a Priority
The awards come as Malaysia Airlines reports improvements in its operational performance. According to MAG, the airline recorded an average year-to-date on-time performance of 91.70% in 2026, reaching 94.16% in September.
Schedule reliability is particularly relevant to MICE travel. Conference delegates often have fixed arrival deadlines, while event organisers work around exhibition opening times, business meetings and scheduled programmes. Flight delays can affect attendance, event logistics and onward travel arrangements.

However, the reported figures are the airline group’s own operational results. They provide an indication of its performance but should not be treated as a direct comparison with other carriers without consistent measurement criteria.
MAG Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business Bryan Foong said the awards represented an important milestone for Malaysia Airlines. He credited the group’s teams for their role in delivering reliable travel experiences and highlighted the importance of strengthening relationships with travel-trade partners.
Malaysia Aviation Group Targets Global Growth
The double MICE recognition is part of a larger list of industry awards that have been awarded to Malaysia Aviation Group and Malaysia Airlines in 2026. MAG Global Contact Centre has received Prestige Recognition for Top CX Performance in the Contact Centre Association of Malaysia Industry Excellence Awards 2026. Malaysia Airlines has also won the Grand Prize in the Airline category in the Best Brand Chosen by Consumers 2026 from JoongAng Ilbo, South Korea and Outstanding Airline Brand of the Year at the Business Focus Awards 2026 in Hong Kong. These accolades reinforce the company’s Long-Term Business Plan 3.0, which aims to make Malaysia Airlines one of the top 10 airlines in the world by 2030. MICE awards are an extra award for the airline in the category that links the world of aviation with international conferences, business events, and destination business. The MICE awards for the airline will also be helpful in promoting Kuala Lumpur, which is the airline’s main base, as a destination for international and regional conferences. Companies that organise events need to consider several factors while selecting destinations for their upcoming events. One such factor is airline connectivity and travel for groups. The recent MICE awards for the airline will be one more addition to its corporate travel offering.
