Aer Lingus and American Airlines have expanded their codeshare agreement, adding two more transatlantic routes.

The carriers are now codesharing on flights operated by both airlines between Dublin Airport (DUB) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

American has also added its code to Aer Lingus Airbus A330 flights between DUB and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

The existing codeshare relationship, started in 2022.

It saw Aer Lingus places its code on American flights from Dublin to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

American in turn placed its code on Aer Lingus flights between DUB and London Heathrow (LHR). Also, on the Irish carrier’s flights from DUB to Amsterdam and Birmingham, London Gatwick and Manchester in England.

It also placed its code on Aer Lingus flights from LHR to Belfast City Airport, Northern Ireland, and Cork and Shannon in Ireland.

Aer Lingus notes the codeshare agreement also allows its passengers to connect onward via American to U.S. cities including Albuquerque, New Mexico; Nashville, Tennessee; Las Vegas; Kansas City, Missouri; Portland, Oregon; San Jose, California; Tampa, Florida and Tucson, Arizona.

DUB has a U.S. Customs and Border Protection preclearance facility. It means passengers traveling to the U.S. can arrive at their destination already having cleared customs.

At the end of October, Aer Lingus ended a longstanding codeshare relationship with United Airlines.
