Aeromexico reports strong December 2023 operational growth

Aeromexico, under Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V., has disclosed its operational outcomes for December 2023:

During December 2023, Grupo Aeromexico saw a rise in transported passengers, totaling 2,206,000, marking a 4.3% increase from the previous year. Notably, international passenger numbers surged by 20.6%, while domestic passenger figures experienced a slight decline of 2.4%.

The airline’s overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASKs), witnessed a year-on-year increase of 13.3%. International ASKs notably expanded by 23.0%, whereas domestic capacity saw a decrease of 3.8% compared to the previous year.

In terms of demand measured by passenger-kilometers (RPKs), there was an impressive 16.4% year-on-year growth. International demand notably soared by 26.2%, while domestic demand remained steady, maintaining the same volume as in December 2022.

Aeromexico’s load factor for December 2023 reached 83.3%, marking a 2.2 percentage point increase compared to December 2022. Specifically, the international load factor rose by 2.1 percentage points, while the domestic load factor surged by 3.3 percentage points.

In summary, during December 2023, Aeromexico experienced notable growth in international segments while encountering minor fluctuations in the domestic sector.
