Today marks the final day of the Asia Pacific Incentives Meetings (AIME) 2024, at the Melbourne Conventions and Exhibitions Centre (MCEC).

The busiest day of the trade show has finally come to an end, with the final speaker session held at the Ideas Academy, spearheaded by guest speaker Nadav Kahn, titled “Sound and Music: The Future of Mental Health.”. For attendees, it served as the perfect way to end a stimulating couple of days.

Speaker Kahn, armed with decades of experience in touring and working in music, impressed at AIME upon the importance of finding a safe and quiet space to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the convention centre, utilising music as a tool to calm the nervous system. Drawing on learnings from his work as a musician, Kahn explored the idea of using the human voice as an instrument to work on balance through techniques like humming, or, as he called it, “mantra.”

“Mental health has been the greatest pandemic of our time, more so than the COVID-19 pandemic,” Kahn stated in his speech. With the help of rhythmic breathing exercises, Kahn helped attendees find their way into calming themselves, creating pulsation sounds that were meant to center the mind, and cool off stress levels. “I spent a great deal of time travelling through India, where I learned to explore different technologies that helped me look into the depth of my craft. I realised that music plays a huge role in mental health. I gravitated toward music because I believe that it is the language of the soul.”
