airBaltic has announced the expansion of its Riga-based Technical Academy Mechanics Program, adding 25 new training spots to meet the high demand and growing interest following the program’s successful launch. This expansion opens up new opportunities for individuals to start their aviation careers as certified aircraft technicians. The next training session is set to begin in early 2025, with the exact start date to be confirmed soon.
Building Careers in Aviation Maintenance in Riga
The airBaltic Technical Academy Mechanics Program offers a unique four-year experience for those with technical skills who wish to grow their careers in aviation maintenance. Based at airBaltic’s Technical Department at Riga International Airport (RIX), the program provides a comprehensive work-and-learn structure, where participants receive a full salary from day one. Over three years, participants gain valuable hands-on experience and work toward achieving EASA Part-66 certification, alongside specialized training on Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Graduates complete the program as certified aircraft technicians with the option to specialize in category B1 (mechanical) or B2 (electrical and electronic systems).
airBaltic’s Commitment to Workforce Development in Riga
With facilities in Riga and Liepāja, the Technical Academy is an integral part of airBaltic’s plan to train and recruit nearly 400 new aviation maintenance professionals by 2030. The academy offers three specialized training programs, providing free education and the opportunity to combine work with study, leading to guaranteed employment in a high-skilled field.

The event will be held on MS Teams, and participants should register to receive the event link via the Event Registration Form.
